There will be lots of situations in your B-School life where things will need decluttering. Here is a humorous attempt to declutter scenarios in b-school life. With COVID-19 causing a toll on mental health of otherwise always busy MBA aspirants, graduates and students. A good laugh always helps in keeping away the blues.

1. The Placement Matrix
A spin-off on the famous BCG Matrix which plotted market share vs market growth of a company.
In the Placement Matrix, a company with a low popularity and a low salary tends to elicit the best of pleasantries to the Placecomm. The other quadrants are self-explanatory.

This pyramid shows how your salary structure determines your actual in-hand salary.
And rightly so, the CTC has been matched with physiological needs as the most basic of all human needs.

3. Profit and Loss Statement
A subject that is particularly difficult for engineers would be Financial Accounting. You learn the intricacies required to report what is needed. For Example: Changing methods of measuring depreciation can impact your net income. And varying expense recognition rules can do the same.
And this knowledge can be used very wisely by committees.

4. Porter’s 5 Forces for Consulting Shortlist
Michael porter’s frameworks will become a staple for all attending B-School. But getting a consulting shortlist is only a staple for those with god-like achievements on their CV. Some of these achievements are mentioned below

All aspirants are already aware of this term, especially GEMs. Guess what. Diversity is going to haunt you forever

6. Forecasted vs Actuals
This graph is the bread and butter of all corporates. The first time you meet seniors, you will be awed by them. And eventually, you will realise that even they are flawed and human. Guess it’s time for me to become a senior too now :P

7. Time/Effort/Resource Allocation
Economics is the study of how people allocate scarce resources. Here is some economics that is omni-present in all group activities. (All MBA programmes have a lotttttt of group activities)

8. Knowledge Transfer
This term is going to be thrown a lot at you in corporate life. Where people will give you a KT or vice versa. In college, we call it gyaan. You are going to get a lot of gyaan in a b-school. Everyone has gyaan to give. The more he gives, the lesser likely he is to actually know stuff
