Importance of most things in life is known when it’s taken away from you. Imagining my life without Aditya Birla Group is something which I can’t imagine. From the little foil balls in the lunch break to being an absolute Forever 21 fan to understanding architecture from UltraTech Cement, even answering those annoying curious questions you ask your parents on a road trip, ‘Why are the tyres of truck so many and huge?’ to imitating Abhishek Bachchan in Idea’s advertisement and even believing in it,’ An idea can change your life.’ Well, it indeed can.

It doesn’t stop there, from getting ready from Allen Solly for MUNs to facing interviews, I have done it all with Aditya Birla Group.

Groups like Aditya Birla don’t just create brands but memories. People get emotionally attached to them and tend to make a story out of these.

Not only in India but abroad as well, Aditya Birla Group has touched millions of lives. In India it has been awarded the ‘Best Employer’ - 2018 by Aon Hewitt.

Aditya Birla Group is a pioneer in giving back to the environment as well, Novelis is world’s largest recycler of used beverage cans (over 50 billion annually), even UltraTech waste heat recovery systems account for 8% of power capacity, Idea Cellular also launched the ‘Green India’ initiative with Aditya Birla Chemicals powering Idea Telecom towers with Hydrogen. Moreover, Renewable Energy Technology (RET) deployment in 500 sites leading to reduction in CO2 emission by 7500 tones/annum.

My Mother often says, ‘Conquer your mind and conquer the world’. All of us have heard this plenty of time but I realised its true power/meaning during my class X exam.

Right before my exams, my father was diagnosed with a heart ailment and needed to have an open-heart surgery at the earliest. It came as a shock to everyone in the family. I felt totally dejected by the turn of events; a house full of happiness had turned to a despondent one. I could think of nothing else but him. Amidst all this, it was a daunting task to concentrate and study. During this time, my mother simply said, ’Conquer your mind and conquer the world’. I would just repeat it whenever I felt dejected or unable to focus and I slowly realised it’s not what happens to you, but how you react to it matters.

I didn’t just ace the exam with a perfect 10 but I’ve carried this with me till date.

This is an incident which happened long back but it has left a deep impact on me. I no longer get stressed when situations gets tough. I am able to maintain a calm composure. To elucidate, a few years back my family met with a major car accident, in which my parents were severely injured. I had no one to look up to, even then I was rational in making my decisions and managed to get things done and take care of the situation single-handedly.
