It has been only a matter of 20 days, and we are immersed in the culture of IIM Udaipur. The campus is spread over an area of 300 acres. The clusters are comfortable, and the rooms are fitted with Air Conditioners and amenities on the floors like Washing Machine, Water Purifier, Induction Cooker, and Microwave Oven. The whole campus is built in the serenity of the mountains. The smart bicycles are available which can be used by paying a very nominal fare and be used for travelling short distances. There are additional facilities available such as Gym, Football Ground, Volleyball Court, TT Room, Music Room. Bloomberg lab is a new concept, and there are few designated computers available in this lab. There is a night house canteen which serves various yummy food and is operational till midnight. The scenic beauty in the morning is just fabulous. The library has a decent collection of books, and it has a whole lot of journals which are excellent ones.
IIM Udaipur had immensely been my first choice because of its entrepreneurship development cell, i.e., Saksham. The incubator centre helps to build entrepreneur skills and focusses on providing a platform to the entrepreneurs. The core values of IIM Udaipur help us to create a good candidature, a distinguished alumnus from IIM Udaipur. The curriculum is designed in such a way that every student gets a chance to showcase leadership, presentation, and managerial skills and then exhibit these skills in the corporate sector. The curriculum is also to designed match the current standards and industry trends in the market.
There is also a foreign exchange programme which is included as an optional curriculum in the last term. It gives an opportunity to the students of IIM Udaipur to visit different countries and understand the diaspora of managers existing in different countries. There are so many clubs and committees that every student gets a chance to showcase the skills or learn something out of this clubs and committees.
Our director Prof. Janat Shah is the most prominent person on the campus. He has specific benchmarks for the institute which is an inspiration for most of the people, and so we can produce such good managers, leaders from the campus.
Which company of Aditya Birla Group I would like to work for and why?
There are a plethora of companies under the Aditya Birla Group. I would like to work for Idea Cellular, a telecommunications company of the group. I had been working in the telecommunications industry for almost four years. Now, at IIMU, I get an opportunity to imbibe the managerial skills required in the organization. There has been so much innovation in technology that the concepts of Data Analytics, Internet of Things, Cloud computing are growing day-to-day. Being a technology enthusiast, I want to enhance my skills in the corresponding sector.
