During 2014 summers, I was about to make a very important decision of my life. Whether to join the herd and join an engineering college, which is the most obvious choice if you want to be an ideal son, or pursue something in humanities, which I actually wanted. Eventually I ended up choosing none of the above and enrolled for the Integrated Programme in Management at IIM Indore. I was a bit sceptical since it was not a relatively new course. But thanks to the course structure, which provided me a chance to learn a mix of academic fields, it was a risk I was willing to take.

I still remember the very first day I visited the campus. As soon as we crossed Rau (an area near Indore), the beautiful campus emerged on Prabandh Shikar. For those who are familiar with Harry Potter, it was much similar to the scene where Harry saw Hogwarts for the first time. The onset of monsoon during that time made it much more mesmerizing. I was already excited, since I knew I will be spending next five years of my life here.

I rushed towards the HRC, got my registration done, settled myself in the room, and met a weird roommate (who is kind of my best friend now). In the evening, I went for a walk around the campus. Now its not an easy task, since the campus is spread across 193 acres. The campus is bestowed with plush green lawns, a rich canopy of trees, and all sorts of flora and fauna (with a few dangerous ones of course).

Even if we talk about infrastructure, campus was filled with all kinds of modern facilities. From swimming pool to movie theatre, from library with a wide array of books to class rooms with world class facilities, we have it all. The only depressing this was mess food (which probably is the case with all the colleges in India). But over the time, thanks to Infra-com and student run ventures, the above issue has been taken care of.

It has been 4 years in campus in this campus. Still it never fails to mesmerize me. Probably its getting better day by day, and year over year. Just like ageing wine. I feel lucky to have an opportunity to spend my grad and post-grad years here.

If given a choice to chose which company of ABG I would like to work for, it would defintely be ABG Fashion and Retail Ltd. The reason is the kind of electies i have opted for in my post grad. I have studied Sales and Distribution management, Marketing Research, Consumer Behaviour, and Retail Management till now. And personally feel that working for fashion and retail division of ABG would provide me an ample opportunity to make best use my learnings over the years
