Coming to a b-school from a bed of roses (for freshers) or from a humdrum routine (for experienced), itself creates numerous experiences for the diversified minds. Diversified in the sense of age, work experience, stream, religion and of course, place! Despite the differences, XIMB culture binds us together.
The greenery inside the campus is so refreshing even in the hot weather of Bhubaneshwar. (But the monsoons are chilling!) The day begins with a 9:45am lecture (sometimes even at 4 am), everybody getting up and rushing to find a vacant bathroom (hostel life is fun!), some people missing breakfast and others missing a bath (priorities!). The teaching style of professors is absolutely not mundane, but it is the Air Conditioners of the classroom which keep students cosy (poor hostellers!).
XIMB is known for its strenuous course structure that gives a boost to the overall personality. Life at XIMB is not just restricted to classes. Seniors play an important role to make the life fruitful and interesting inside the campus! Be it the presentations at 9 pm, group discussions at 12 am or parties till 3 am, seniors here never fail to maintain the dignity of a b-school! Nobody actually sleeps here because at XIMB, Everything Happens Under the Sun! There are assignments, instant batchmeets, quizzes and everything it takes to work hard and make a 30 hour day! The “Night Mess” is a saviour for students who remain awake for pasta and nachos chaat which is difficult to get nearby at such a small price.
Being a culturally diversified place it gives ample opportunities to people to show their talent and never feel dull! Be it a cultural event or a sports meet or celebration of the festivities, it all happens in our home, XIMB.
This a place of learning! Learning cultures, learning networking, learning experiences and learning to be a professional!
Which ABG company you want to work for and why?
I want to work for Aditya Birla Finance Limited (ABFL). With more people moving to the organised sector, and ABFL being among the top five non-banking finance companies (NBFCs), it is a growing sector and will provide a platform to learn and offer finance – related solutions to a diversified range of customers. Having commerce background ,past experience in the finance sector, and managerial skills acquired so far, I believe I will be a better fit for ABFL as it interests me more having the related skills and expertise.
