Being an MBA aspirant and choosing an apt college is perhaps one of the toughest tasks in our country as there is a plethora of colleges here. Each one has its own idiosyncrasies. It was indeed a happy headache to have. After months of groundwork and weeks of interaction with elders and peers, I finally chose Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneshwar. Having been here for nearly a month now, I am elated that I took the right decision. So, what makes my campus unique and why do I feel that my decision was right?
A lot of unique features drew me towards XIMB. Firstly, the name of Xavier has an instant recall factor. The principles of Jesuit institutes are well known. Their unwavering focus on dynamic pedagogy, their open-mindedness and the never-ending list of illustrious alumni are for everyone to see. Being one of the top Jesuit colleges in India, XIMB ticks off all these boxes with élan. It strictly adheres to the coveted Jesuit principles and focuses on strong academic rigour with discipline being paramount. Equity in development of the mental, physical and spiritual spheres is there for all to obtain.
The vigour and energy in the bonding and interaction with seniors is another attractive feature of XIMB. The seamless interaction between the seniors and the juniors is one of its kind. This started even before we joined the campus with the “RendezvouX” drive. This redefined “Student Driven” for me. More interaction made me realise the degree of professional candour that an XIMB student gains. When they say they run the college, they are not mincing their words. They do run the college and take full responsibility.
Further, the uniqueness of the location also caught my attention. The serene breeze and occasional downpours are glorious. Being in the heart of the city, there is easy access to all needs.
Abraham Lincoln once said, “Be sure you put your feet in the right place, then stand firm”. I know that I have put my feet in the right place and as a result, also cemented my future.
Which ABG company I would like to work for and why?
Being the third largest Indian private sector conglomerate, Aditya Birla Group has already set his precedence in the Indian Market. I will be extremely delighted if I get a chance to work in such a coveted organisation. If given a chance, I would want to associate myself with UltraTech Cement. My interest towards mechanical field coupled with my passion towards pursuing my career of management in operations makes UltraTech Cement a natural choice.
