For transforming professionals with technological background to "Renaissance Leaders" of tomorrow and to excel in creation, dissemination and application of management knowledge, the reasons which allured me to the doorway of SJMSOM. Coming from Mechanical Engineering background and having a strong affiliation to business management, the mission statement is aligned to my interests. I believe in the simultaneous application of textbook knowledge and experience. The school leads the way in preparing graduates to respond to the new challenges of businesses, by drawing on varied intellectual resources of IITB and providing outstanding and innovative programs in management education. The SJMSOM building with its modern structure with its classrooms, seminar halls, computer labs, Wi-Fi enabled lobbies and wide open spaces for discussions and events will be a boon for knowledge savvy students like me. With four Continuum seminars, a technology seminar, a business festival, a series of leadership lectures and a number of Diksha lectures, I would get exposed to ideas and thoughts of experts in their own field of excellence which will help foster interdisciplinary interests. The faculty with their versatile areas of interest, diverse backgrounds, and rich industrial experiences enhance the learning and provide a perspective on the nature and future of the industries and I hope to be my mentors in the field of management. The school presents a fine blend of students with an average work experience of 24 months from diverse industries, whose company will help me get a glimpse of the developments and growth in each of the fields they worked in. SJMSOM has a strong club culture with 5 clubs each focusing on a management stream. Through these clubs, like minded students come together and organize events round the year which is the kind of activities I have been involved in during my college days and I hope to continue that here in the college as well. The illustrious alumni backup, the fabulous placements, and excellent location of the college, as well as the flamboyant history of educational excellence that SJMSOM has portrayed, has pulled me closer to the institute thus making my choice of pursuing my management studies in SJMSOM even while I had received calls from other premier Management Institutes. I am looking forward to the opportunity that is given to me and I will make use of the facilities given to me.
