The Faceless Friends At IIM Trichy!

This is my second week at IIM Trichy and it already feels like it has been ages since I came to this place. 23rd June 2018 was the first time I set foot on this campus and the very first day, many known and unknown faces gave me a very warm welcome and some even gave me a hug! I had the same question that most of you reading this now might have, how did these people know me when this was the first time I entered the campus? The answer lies in a simple yet powerful word called “WhatsApp”. Before coming to the campus, all the students had been a part of the WhatsApp group which helped us connect with the seniors and also prepare ourselves physically and mentally for the journey ahead of us. Though this was mostly for official news and queries, the enthusiastic, crazy students of my batch went ahead and made another “Unofficial group” meant only for fun.

"Chitti-Chitti Bang-Bang" Learning Pedagogy At Its Best At IIM Trichy!

It has just been two weeks at IIM Trichy and the classroom learnings experience are amazing. There were many different approaches for learning that IIM Trichy follows but all of them are centered towards collaborative learning. We recently had a session of Written analysis and communication (WAC). This is one of the subject wherein the discussion and practical approach helps to understand the concepts rather than the theoretical course packs. So, in the first session professor entered the class with a soft-sounding voice and gave his brief introduction. There was a bunch of papers in his hand and we had an impression that we are going to receive some handouts; we will read it, analyze it and go back to our air-conditioned hostel rooms. But, the actual scenario was completely different. He had planned a game for us which is to be played in the team of 8. So quickly he divided all of us into the team of 8 and gave each team a blank A4 sheet. He explained the rules of the game which are as follows.

4 Crazy Classmates At IIM Trichy

Sreenath M. - He can take almost anything serious and turn it into a joke. He is known for his sense of humour. Sometimes he just walks out of a conversation or in the middle of a class just because he felt like it. He can be extremely sensitive to a person or completely blunt, there is nothing in between. He has a knack of trying new things irrespective of his success or failure of his previous attempts. Revathi Sharma- Everyone calls her the “laughing Buddha” because she loves food and she laughs no matter what the situation or place is. Her laugh is recognizable miles away. She is the most punctual person I have ever met, she can be up all night, probably sleep in the class but won’t miss the class or breakfast or anything that is in her to-do list. She is extremely passionate about teaching kids from underprivileged sections of the society and can never stop talking about them. Sharon Roy- He is the sweetest and the most caring person I have met. He goes out of his way to help people; he sometimes gives up his own comfort for that. He is extremely talented and is crazy about music. He is multi-instrumentalist and has his own production house, have composed songs and have performed on various platforms. He has amazing people skills. Everyone knows him for his sweet nature. Suraj Muniyappa – We can never guess what is going on in his mind. Either he talks a lot or stays completely quiet usually making him a target for most of our jokes. He is mostly an observer and is really creative. He takes the whole group by surprise with his witty answers. Which Aditya Birla Group company I would like to work for?
