My name is Kshitij Chittar. I have a work experience of three years in a family run business. We are very small scale industry working in rural area and manufacturing food processing equipments. To grow from a small scale industry to established brand, I think, journey is very tough because of many small hurdles that we face. It is said that it is easy to earn billions from millions but it is very difficult to earn 100 from 10. So, to have a complete understanding of the business I decided to pursue MBA.

A B-school is more of people and less of a classroom. While standing at crossroad of choosing which B-school to join, this particular aspect helped me a lot to decide. Hence, IIM Trichy was a decision well crafted and thought about. For me personally, work experience quality of the batch was of utmost importance as I believe that nothing beats the learning we get from our peers. Our classes had begun last week and the students were getting into the hectic schedule that comes with b-school life. The classes were pretty interesting as unlike our educational experience till now; we were learning theoretical concepts and their vast applications in major organizations through a case-based pedagogy. As a commerce student, my focus and interest lied mainly with Finance and Marketing subjects.

On 12th February 2018, I entered my regular classroom for the first session on Society and Business management with the same nonchalant and pedestrian attitude I am accustomed to. To be honest I didn’t really expect much from the course. I could not have been more wrong. What should have sent alarms ringing is the fact that the professor asked the students to memorize the first 2 stanzas of the poem “Where the mind is without fear”. It was peculiar in a nostalgic sense. It reminded me of my childhood. But now I am in my 3rd trimester and have been asked to, memorize a poem. I swear IIM Kashipur catches me off guard every day.
