Often, an MBA from a top notch business school in India is seen to be the gateway to success. In the quest of making it to top schools, aspirants work hard every day and write multiple exams like CAT, XAT, TISSNET, NMAT, IIFT etc.
The action began in the month of July. On one hand, I was feeling excited about starting over a new chapter in my life, while, on the other hand, I was pretty nervous about what to expect in an IIM.
In the scorching Delhi summers of 2018, the process of getting an admit offer from IIM Nagpur started with the WAT and PI at IIFT Delhi. My interview went well. I still remember my PI conversation when one of the professors extended his hand to offer me candy and I thought that he wanted to do a handshake, LOL.
IIM Nagpur, apart from its regular academics and domain-specific activities by academic clubs, has a significant proportion of activities on campus that’s meant for building a cultural legacy, celebrating life, contribution to society and much more. This article is dedicated towards highlighting the work of a few of those non academic clubs, with a focus on how we give it back to society, how sports facilities on campus refreshes the PGP candidates after a rigorous day in class, and most importantly how a dedicated team ensures that you get the best food so that studies, sports and all other work never witness a stop.
Over the years, we have received numerous stories of MBA students sharing sneak peeks of the good, bad and the ugly of their B-school lives. While thousands of stories exist about 'learning' and 'opportunities' and 'friendships', only a handful have the courage to share stories of the 'reality of MBA' in India - stories of what goes on behind the scenes; and that too, anonymously.
The Finance club of IIM Nagpur is not just another club. It works with the core mission of ensuring that students get to explore the practical aspects of different areas from the finance domain on a regular pace and at a higher frequency. The vision behind its functionality revolves around enabling opportunities for the PGP students so that they can apply their knowledge to real-world problems to learn and enhance their skills.
