Why Aditya Birla Group is big in my life?
Aditya Birla group is one of the largest conglomerates in the country and holds a very important place in my life. Aditya Birla sunlife AMC pvt. Ltd, Mumbai is the company in which my sister is currently employed and she has been with the Aditya Birla group for more than 2 years now and was recently awarded for being an excellent performer in her field of work. Aditya Birla group was the first company in which she got employed after her MBA and has climbed up the ranks in the organization in a very short span of time all because of her hardwork and dedication.
It was the winter of 2014. The auditorium was full of people, and my heart was beating fast. The quizmaster had just delivered the tiebreaker question of the annual national quiz competition at Jadavpur University- “Which company has the tagline- Let's reach for the Sun”? Having no clue about the answer, my team lost to the question. Later I came to know that the answer was Aditya Birla Group.
Aditya Birla Group, operating in 36 countries and having more than 120,000 employees worldwide, is a global conglomerate in the real sense and it is also in the league of Fortune 500. Their products touch the lives of millions of people everyday across the world. ABG has attained leadership position in several businesses with products ranging across various sectors like cement, telecom, apparel, chemicals, fertilizers, financial services, etc. It’s difficult to find a person who hasn’t used any products of ABG, especially in India.
The Founding roots of Aditya Birla Group can be outlined in the late 1850s when Shiv Seth Narayan Birla Started trading in cotton and after his demise, his son Mr. Ghanshyam Das Birla took over the Birla group setting up the groundbreaking industries ranging from fabric to cement and Aluminium to chemicals. One would think of him of being only the Industrialist but he was the driving force of India’s Freedom Movements reinforcing Mahatma Gandhiji in his Round table Conference in London.
