How ABG helped me achieve my dream - MDI Gurgaon

How ABG helped me achieve my dream - MDI Gurgaon

Ultratech cement is the brand by Aditya Birla Group that has helped make a difference to my life, and as a result it is this brand that I can relate to the most. I still remember that I used to wake up every morning for work dreading the travel. My office was in Parel, and every morning at 9 am, I stood up at Khar road railway station to board the local train to go to Parel. For someone living in Mumbai, travelling in local is the toughest time of the day. You get all dressed up for office, and by the time you reach your office, you look like you slept just like this and came to work. Apart from this, travelling in local is a battle of life and death in itself (not exaggerating). So I really dreaded that part of the day and often tried to take a bus to work. I later started taking the cab when I couldn’t take the local travel anymore. Why I didn’t take the cab before? Well, Khar to Parel might be lesser that 10-12 km in distance, but the time it took through traffic during office hours would make you feel otherwise. But anyway, I still took that option anyway because I was too tired of the sweaty morning travel. All this while there was a lot of fuss about the new Bandra to Worli Sea Link that was being constructed. To be honest, it did look like an engineering marvel, and as we know now, it is one of the landmark structures of Mumbai. So when it was finally done with construction and it became operational, I can’t explain the relief it got me and many others travelling on the route. The travel time almost halved, and I could now save almost more than an hour of my travelling daily, not to mention the tiredness and travelling stress that went along with it. And guess what, the Bandra to Worli Sea link is constructed by using Ultratech cement. So soon, I decided to give my CAT exams, and prepare for it along with my job. As any person who has given it along with job would know, taking out time to study along with job is too difficult. But with the amount of time that I was saving every day in travelling, I could give one more hour towards my preparations. That one hour gave me room to freshen up after coming back from work, take a bit of rest, and then right away get on with my studies. Even during morning I could sleep that half an hour extra which gave me the much needed rest to balance the pressure of work and studies. Finally the day of my CAT result, I was so happy that I could cross that milestone and ultimately landed in one of the best B-schools in the country. If that 1 extra hour daily helped me increase my score even by just 1 percentile, it probably made all the difference between me repeating another year or studying in MDI.

Part A- Impact Of Aditya Birla

Part A- Impact Of Aditya Birla

From pantaloon to more, from cements to textile, Aditya Birla has successfully managed to touch million hearts in this day and age. It has come out to be the most diverse brand catering to all age groups and gender. I am an ardent user of aditya birla brands like- Forever 21, Allen solly when it comes to apparel and fashion. Its impressive how the company has managed to maintain its image and brand loyality throughoout all the years. Durables, fashion, manufacturing, and food items, Aditya Birla has covered all the different spectres of business which is commendale in its own.The product which attracts me the most from Aditya Birla is limited to the field of Fashion. I remember when i was in Nagapur at a very nascent stage, Pantaloon was the only branded, up to fashion hub open. I am happy with the outreach  of Birla at such an initial stage at a smart city, which was then still in its developing stage.

Winds Of Change| MDI, Gurgaon

Winds Of Change| MDI, Gurgaon

Right in the middle of the beautiful and unplumbed state of Chhattisgarh lies a city called Bilaspur. The city, which happens to be the birthplace of the author, is vibrant- with active communities and robust gatherings- and yet, calm and quiet. The marketplaces are crowded at definite hours and the nights are quiet, with the exception of some enthusiastic bikers. While the heart of the city hasn’t quite changed in the past twenty years, its skin has. Commercial centres have sprung up across the city and spending habits have changed, entertainment has changed. All this brings me back to the day when the first mall opened here, in the year 2011. With a select few shops and eateries back then, it became the talk of the town. One of the first few stores to open here was Pantaloons- the ultimate stop shop for all things clothing. I remember how it completely changed the idea of shopping for so many people. Now you wouldn’t have to go around hundreds of shops in Gol Bazaar to get the latest trends. You had to go to one place. The sheer excitement and an absurd sense of empowerment that people felt with this establishment- this new way of doing things- gave the city a new life. To realise potential in a city when others didn’t, to be the pioneers of a commercial upsurge in a tier 3 city, my city, was a contribution of the Aditya Birla Group that stayed with me. In the years to come we would see a number of stores and commercial centres spring up but we all know who gave us the first glimpse into this change that has manifested itself firmly today.
