There is a famous quote by an Irish poet named William Butler Yeats which goes as follows; “Education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire”. With varied human perspective, it can be understood in multiple ways but to me, it just reflects the true essence of education. And I believe that the two essential components required to light a fire for learning are will and skill. I believe in this technological world, an engineer needs to go beyond designing products to pricing them and putting them up in the market, selling them and fixing problems thereafter. So, here I am extremely motivated towards pursuing my MBA at Vinod Gupta School of Management, IIT Kharagpur.

I feel nostalgic as I think of those days when my mother packed my lunch in freshwrapp aluminum foil to keep my chapatis warm & soft by the time i ate them in afternoon. Making my life better since my early days is the Hindalco company, manufacturer of freshwrapp foils owned by Aditya Birla Group. Aditya Birla Group is not only a big shot in India but has a major global presence. With over US $44.3 billion turnover, the Aditya Birla Group operates in 35 countries and is active in 14 industry sectors and has more than 120,000 employees worldwide. It has many reputed brands including Allen Solly, Peter England, Van Heusen, Louis Phillipe on which I heavily depend on, not just because of their high quality products but also for their variety of offerings at reasonable price. I gave my CAT interview in a formal shirt trouser and blazer which i purchased from Van Heusen. I tried pairs from many different brands but the way Van Heusen products added to my personality was unparallel. I was extremely happy with their customer service and the overall experience during my purchase. I use a Louis Phillipe trolley bag, Allen Solly handbag and Van Heusen sandals. They have such an attractive collection, that I have sometimes ended up in their stores even when I didn't plan for it. I have been associated with ABG for many of my purchases and can’t even imagine how my life would be without these ABG products.

As a child, I couldn’t properly pronounce or spell “conglomerate”, let alone know its meaning. But we had a MORE retail market just opposite our house and it is from there that I came to know about the Aditya Birla Group. Every weekend my mother used to take me to MORE for buying grocery, and I used to ask my mom about Aditya Birla Group. One day she explained me what it is, how ABG is much more than just MORE, the true meaning of the word “conglomerate” and how there is a bit of ABG in almost every Indian’s life.

Though I have visited beaches in the past, but none of them was as soothing as that one. Maybe I got a break from the scorching heat of northern India or my mind was free of obligations, whatever it may be, but the feeling was ecstatic. An exquisite sunset with a perfect amalgam of cool breeze and lukewarm sunlight set the tone for a week-long trip with my very old friend. We were both worn out from our daily robotic schedules. We found a place to sit in the corner and were clueless of what to do next.
