A walk down the memory lane - Shashwat Awasthi, IIM Raipur
Childhood memories are the most cherished ones. I hail from Kanpur (Uttar Pradesh), but since my father was transferred to Bangalore (now Bengaluru), I have spent a considerable part of my life there. Every time we had to buy groceries, we used to go for shopping at the nearby More Supermarket in Indiranagar on weekends. That had been a place of purchase for most of the items ranging from groceries to daily use items like snacks, shampoo and other toiletries. This store is always the one which builds up a sense of nostalgia to the current day when I visit it now, as it was the first supermarket I had seen. I started visiting the store in my 8th class, going through the supermarket looking out for different varieties of snacks placed on the left side back rack of the shop hunting for my favorite ones. I was fascinated by different deals being offered and used to calculate the extra value being provided in products ranging from biscuits to shampoo and toiletries. My sole task was to gather different snacks being offered there. I used to fill my basket completely with snacks like Kurkure, Uncle Chips and not to mention my favorite Cheese Balls. Many times, my dad used to scold me to keep some of them back to the shelf again. I used to put half of them back while my dad went for billing. The staff was very courteous and used to greet us every time we used to visit the store.
