HOW I OVERCAME CHALLENGES TO ACHIEVE MY AMBITIONS IN LIFE SO FAR - TAPMI

HOW I OVERCAME CHALLENGES TO ACHIEVE MY AMBITIONS IN LIFE SO FAR - TAPMI

I read a statement by Mr. Kumar Mangalam Birla (Chairman, Adity Birla Group) that stated: “Great businesses are never built on the quick sands of opportunism. I reiterate that, if living by our values means, perhaps growing at a pace slower than we would otherwise have liked, so be it. For us, leadership lies at the heart of knowing what we stand for”.I believe this is what I am trying to follow in my life in bits and parts.I say this because I know that I am yet to achieve my ambitions both on the personal and professional front.Taking it at my own speed with the values that have been inculcated in me throughout my journey as a child, a student and a friend is something that I have been doing and want to do ahead as well.Life as they say is a roller coaster ride where challenges are bound to persist.Even before sitting on the roller coaster the challenge that you face is whether to even attempt the ride or not.Similar to this, when I thought I had to be part of a B-School, the very first challenge that faced me was whether I could pull off the pressure Entrance exams along with my office work?Making my mind understand the fact that it is not at all impossible and that I can and will do it was my first step towards overcoming this challenge.During my journey through CAT preparation, there were days when I had to work for about 12-15hrs in office to meet the deadlines and at the same time write CAT mocks that accounted for 3hrs of my day and then analyzing the mocks which accounted for even more time. The only thing that kept me going was the fire to fulfill my dream of being in a B-School.Having gone through all the hardships of office and exam prep has only made me stronger, patient and has taught me the art of time management. Not to mention hardships always lead you to your goal, your ambition.Even mine did lead me to my goals.Though I am still to achieve my ultimate goal and I will tackle any challenges in the journey towards that goal with an optimistic outlook. A quality that has lead to accomplishments in my life.

How I overcame challenges to achieve my ambitions?- TAPMI

I have always been that quiet, shy and introvert girl who liked to be around just a handful of familiar faces. It took a lot of courage for a person like me who had glossophobia, a fear of public speaking or speech anxiety, to come on stage while innumerable eyes are on you. As I used to stand on stage and face the audience, my heart started beating faster and blood start rushing all over my body. Whenever I tried to overcome this fear I felt more nervous, my palms start sweating, my stomach ties itself into knots and I felt like giving up and finishing it as soon as possible and go sit back to my comfort zone.

ADITYA BIRLA GROUP - Big In Your Life

Little did I know when I was giving an interview for joining a company and was asked where do you see yourself in next 5 years then i said i want to join MBA program and improve my skill-set for managing people. That decision of giving a straight forward answer according to me was Big in my life. A seed was planted in me to pursue what I said and I began to work towards achieving it. I did not get admission in the first attempt. I learnt my mistakes and put a lot of hard work in my next attempt, this time i missed my admission by a very little margin (I was Wait list 3). In my third (which would have been my last) attempt I was in retrospection, what was my mistake and found its not only hard work but I need to combine it with smart work to succeed. This time I was in an interview for admission in MBA program and i still remember my attire was from the brand Allen Solly, was prepared with my answer for the question " Where do you see yourself in next 5 years" this time with higher level of confidence. I got selected and am able to do what i said. In the process of achieving my goal i got support from my family, peers and well-wishers without which this could not have been possible.

Just my story - TAPMI

Just my story - TAPMI

Being the daughter of a PSU employee, moving from one place to another was a part of my childhood. Staying at one place, relishing its landscape, and making life-long friends were something that I always dreamt of during my childhood. However, when you shift from one place to another back in the late 90s and early 2000s with no Facebook or Instagram to keep you connected, it was a rather an unpleasant situation.

Those were the days, in the very early 21st Century, when the mobile phones started their foray into the Indian market. And it was the very first mobile phone in my home, that my father used to carry, which used to show 4 bars on the top left corner of the phone, with IDEA against those bars. Those were the first traces of Aditya Birla Group, being in my life and has always been an integral part till date. When there was still only 2G existing in India, back in 2009, Idea Cellular never ceased to attract customers all over the country and was the go-to mobile network for majority of the new customers.
