The companion who complements your journey towards the sky ! - TAPMI

The day TAPMI released its shortlist and I got selected, I booked the tickets to manipal city which wouldn’t have been possible as I was in a remote village, if not for IDEA’s extensive network I would have missed on the last few remaining tickets. The anxiety and the excitement of joining a B-School and along with that the need to buy new business formals landed me to the gates of the reliable Pantaloons with a hope of getting the best discounts (Need to think economically because of the B-School fees!) plus the pitch perfect quality fabric. While I was contemplating if I need to buy two blazers, I checked my 6-year-old Peter England Blazer, and as expected the blazer was still rich in its firmness and quality! (Cost effective and longer shelf life!) Then comes the task of buying the part and parcel of life in a B-school formal shirts and trousers, without even a single thought my vehicle somehow took me to the glass gates of Allen Solly, the brand name consistent with an everlasting comfort!  Then finally the day came when I had to leave my city, my home to chase the dream and change the gear and go in full throttle towards the aim chase. The throttle reminds me of the picturesque journey from Mumbai to Manipal, the sea, the weather the roads and yes the swift journey without any shocks to the bus (Important for a person with slipped disk) made the travel a more comfortable one- thanks to Birla Carbon! While relishing the arresting journey in no time I was standing in front of the gate of TAPMI holding my Allen Solly laptop bag with spark in eyes and a ray of hope, stepping towards a new journey!

The value of grandparents in a kid’s life is something that cannot be described in words. Grandparents are someone who always stand by you and support you no matter what the situations are. They always want you to achieve everything possible. Such were my grandparents, I never saw my grandmother but I had my grandfather. No matter how low I would be in my life, one call from him would always bring a smile on my face. It was the first year of my engineering, I was in a city that was totally new to me, was meeting new people and making new friends. I was having a good time altogether. My end term exams were close so I was busy preparing for them. I always use to talk to my grandfather before the exams so as to seek his blessings and I always feel it is his blessings because of which I am what I am. One day before my exams I got a call from my father, I received the call and I heard him crying. It was the first time ever in my life that I heard my father crying. He informed me about the sudden demise of my grandfather. I was shocked. Words can’t describe the feelings I had at that point of time. I remember only one thing, that I had only tears and no words. The day after I had my first engineering exam and the person who was the key source of my motivation was no more. I could not gather up myself. I was completely broken. I never wanted to give my exam. But his words kept striking in my head. It was his dream to see me as an engineer. And I gathered myself up for him, so that wherever he is, he always be proud of me. And I gave my exams and came out with flying colors. It has been almost four years since his demise but today also whenever I go to give an exam I never forget to seek his blessings and make sure that I make him proud always.

My first brush with fashion, per se, was when I went into a Pantaloons store. It was an enormous building with multiple floors having loads and loads of products. It was an exhilarating experience to see so many brands, styles and designs at a single place. I bought a Peter England shirt and ever since, I have returned time and again to the brand for its comfortable fit and styling. This might not have a huge impact on others but, it certainly did have a great impact on me, helping me get a good dressing sense and acquire a sense of personal style.

I am a computer science engineer. In the initial days in my engineering, I was really struggling with the computer languages which were just introduced to me. I did not have any prior idea about computer coding and I found it really difficult. In the first lab exam, I performed horribly. I had been a decent student throughout. But failing in the lab exam was way out of the line. I was devastated. At one point in time, I was planning to drop out of college. But then I realized that escaping from a certain situation was cowardice. I decided to bounce back. I started hands-on coding practice. I contacted my friends from college and asked them to help me. I was also referring to many online sites and videos to understand the concepts. I reduced my sleeping hours and kept practicing. In some times,  I was able to understand the logic. I was able to crack the code which seemed arden to me 2 months back. Then I started to take part in competitive coding and developed my skill set. Clearing any computer exams after that became a cakewalk for me.

All the world's a stage - Live it like you mean it - TAPMI

I realised that procrastination is my biggest enemy ever since I got introduced to this word sometime during my school days. Neither did I know then that it could be something which could stop oneself from living life to the fullest nor did I realise that it's grave a habit.

When "Kya Kahenge Log" stopped bothering me- Aaisha Ansari - TAPMI

When you come from a school where your parents are teachers, life is definitely tough! Right from your classmates’ remarks, to the added pressure of constantly doing well, to the “everyday is a PTM for me”, every day of your life becomes a movie. Born to the world’s most talented parents, I was part of such a deal. My parents were both professors in the same school that I was studying in and they were also high up in the hierarchy of the management of the school. Therefore, comments like, “ You must already know everything” and “What is coming for the exam?” were common. Each passing day was a nightmare when it got worse and I reached a level when I could not take it. This is the time, I believe, I changed as a person. Telling yourself that people’s views and opinions do not matter is one of the best things you can do to yourself. What they think, what they say, is of absolutely no consideration once you have achieved what you always wanted to achieve. That is precisely what I did too. And till date, that value of telling myself to differentiate between what is important and what is not, has stuck with me. It has helped me achieve whatever I wanted to, despite what people said and did and how they made life a living hell sometimes. But what has always stayed with me so far is the quality that such things in life, eventually do not matter. One will always look back and laugh at such things, no matter what. Therefore, focus on these challenges and learn from them, is something I will always abide by.
