The Beginning of a Journey

The Beginning of a Journey

The very first time I saw someone wearing a suit was when I was 5 years old. My father was getting ready for an important meeting and I remember seeing him meticulously tucking his shirt inside his trousers, putting on cuff links, then wearing his grey Allen Solly blazer on.  My father has always been a well dressed man and has been an Allen Solly loyalist. And as the saying goes, 'Like father, like son'.

A Major Challenge I faced in my Life – TAPMI

In the year 2013, a good rank in Engineering Entrance Exam secured me a seat in one of the best engineering college, Govt. Engineering College, Thrissur, Kerala. I opted for Civil Engineering considering the scope of the field as well as my parent’s opinion. During the course, I was able to do justice to my subjects, scoring a good SGPA in all the semesters. But I felt, the practical exposure that I received in Civil Engineering was a bit low. Meanwhile, I had been gradually developing an interest for Management studies after exploring and reading about the various opportunities after MBA. I believed that I had the managerial skills in me which I had to develop more. In the final year, I got placed in Accenture Services Pvt. Ltd. Then came the very challenging period in my life, where I had to make a choice between a job in an IT company, Accenture, and trying for a job in my core field Civil Engineering. I believed, work experience in Accenture would help me know more about how a corporate organization works, the role that various career level employees play in the organization’s growth etc. This would be a leading step to take forward my career in Management. Despite initial opposition from my parents who wanted me to work in civil field, I convinced them my interests in management and finally joined Accenture. My experiences in Accenture was challenging and enlightening. It turned me into an independent, self-confident person. Today, my parents and I are proud that I took the right decision of joining Accenture, which helped me to further shape my career in management. Choosing the right decision at the right time has helped me to achieve a leading step towards my career in management.😊

The world around us is moving at a break neck speed and it is our responsibility to be in the lead of the changes. This applies for business conglomerates as well. There are two key factors that is absolutely necessary for any organization to become humungous: 1) Adaptability: willingness to try and execute new ideas in accordance with the trend. 2) Diversity: The hunger to enter new and diverse market and be successful while maintaining the quality in the already established fields.

Housing in India has seen tremendous growth. It is a basic human need. The government is striving hard to make decent and affordable housing available to all families in rural and urban India. But many others play a huge rule in transforming the frail huts into sturdy homes.
