Wow! What a brand! We recently studied about the brand architecture in our Brand Management course. ABG is a brilliant example of hybrid model. It have some brands using the name of parent brand and some are kept as a stand-alone brands. I analysed it further and can clearly say that the brands which share the essence of the parent brand uses its name and brand which are different are branded with a different name. Beautiful example to explain brand architecture.

Taking a trip down the memory lane, I realise that my connection with the Aditya Birla Group started at the age of 16, when the aspiration of securing an admission in Birla Institute of Technology and Science Pilani started sprouting up in me. However, the life hasn’t gone the way I wanted. It took me the way it wanted. I didn’t have the courage to repeat another year and pursue my dream back then. Hence I had to subside my dream with at most despair and pursued my engineering from Mahatma Gandhi University.

Playing basketball had been one of my primary interests as a child. I started at a fairly young age, enjoyed it thoroughly and got pretty decent at it soon. I played in my school as well as outside of it during free time. But as I grew up, my age did, my height-not so much. For a sport in which height is a very major benefit or a basic requirement rather, I was up for huge disappointment. For a while there, I was disheartened and did not see the point in continuing the sport with my tall team and counterparts. Soon however, with some introspect and motivation from my mother, I took it as a challenge and started spending more and more time playing and practicing. I practiced along, with my brother, a couple of friends- basically anyone I could find became a partner to fulfil the mission of getting better at it inspite of the shortcoming I had no control over.
