Dreams do come true

Dreams do come true

It is my dream to be a boss lady in pant suits. My father being a government official was always trying to convince me to become a government employee and not a manager. It was very hard for someone from a small city to convince my father about my dreams which he had no idea about. We got into several fights before he gave me two years time to prove myself. From that day it has been a long journey throughout. I moved to a new place and then my struggle started working and simultaneously preparing for CAT. Whenever I went shopping, every business suit I would see , I would imagine myself in it. Those suites were my motivation. My first attempt in CAT was not so good. I was shattered. I thought I was aiming too high. My father was not at all happy. I said I will try again and he agreed just because he didn’t want me to lose. When I wrote the second time, I wasn’t so sure but was hopping for the best and then I received my CAP email. I really had low hopes in making it to an IIM, so I didn’t even buy a suit for my interview. But inside I was dying to buy one. My interview was in Bangalore and  my dad came along. Everything in him changed. He went to the venue where the interview is going on and I was preparing for the interview in the hotel. He came back with a Park Avenue suit in his hand. He had tears in his eyes. He said he is very proud of me and this suit is the proof that he is with me in all my decisions. He said that he is now okay if I don’t make it into an IIM, and this suit is for all the hard-work I put in. That suit still reminds me that wherever I go, my dad, my strength is always with me. Today being a part of IIM Ranchi, I feel so proud and whenever I wear my suit, every hardship that I went through to be here was worth it. It gives me a sense of responsibility, a ray of hope, mountains of courage and a lot of confidence to move ahead in life.

ADITYA BIRLA GROUP: A Quintessential part of my life

When it comes to Indian conglomerates, the name that holds prominence in our minds is Aditya Birla Group. Perhaps there is no place in our daily lives where this Fortune 500 company has not ventured into. But to me, ABG is much more than just a brand. It is like the go to place for me. Be it Pantaloons or More, or their highly coveted garment brands like Louis Philippe,Van Heusen, Peter England whenever I had found myself perplexed with choices I always sought refuge to one of these brands. I still remember, the very first time I bought my formal blazer from Louis Philippe. It was not any high profile business outing of any sort but still held a great meaning for me. More than anything else, that piece of suit instilled a much needed confidence in me which I later found extremely useful in corporate life.

Aditya Birla Group – The big name that resonates in every nook and corner of India (IIM Ranchi)

It is highly unlikely for an Indian to have walked past the streets of India and not heard of the name Aditya Birla. Be it an aspirant looking to graduate from one of the finest universities in the country, be it the poor construction worker who gets constantly reminded of the Ultra Tech Cement, be it the masses who use Vodafone Idea to connect to the world, and the fashion freak who has a thing for the top brands like Allen Solly, Louis Philippe or Van Heusen, ABG has a special element for everyone to associate with them.
