If you ask school kids about their favorite subject, you’re unlikely to get history as an answer. However I loved it growing up, especially the business history. It is filled with examples of leadership skills, innovative ideas, futuristic visions and out of the box thinking. Yet only few businesses manage to stand the test of time and remain successfully operational for more than 50 years. Only a handful have ever managed to make it to 100 years. And then there is the Birla group which has been growing and scripting success stories for more than 150 years.

The delay started from the clouds. An announcement streamed across the plane and I heard sighs of people in unison. The flight was supposed to land at 6 pm but touched down 40 minutes later. It was my first visit to India. A new country, new people, and a new system to adapt. But how I wish I knew about the system part a little earlier.

A Journey like no other…A journey with Aditya Birla Group-Titikshya Behera, SIBM Pune
I was looking for ABG’s role as something big in my life when I realised it is hidden in every small part of my life. I live in a house made up of things that are most probably sourced from UltraTech Cement and Hindalco. I wake up in the morning wearing a pair of pajamas from Pantaloons. When I dress up, I look at the row of formals hanging in my wardrobe and I know more than half of it is either from Van Heusen or Allen Solly. I go up to the dining table to find dad in his Louise Philip suite, grabbing a quick bite with his phone in one hand which has 4G Vodafone. Every day I come across things that are associated with Aditya Birla Group by one way or the other. When something is part of your life at every stage, it plays a very important role. It creates an image of the brand or company in the minds of the consumers and thus influences them to keep buying products and services of the same brand. Personally, my attachment with Aditya Birla Group products is very close and I have noticed that in my shopping trends too. Whenever I think of formal wear be it shoes, bags or shirts and trousers, Allen Solly and Van Heusen are the first to come into mind. Even my dad prefers them a lot over other brands. That is the power of Aditya Birla Group!

When a question is put to someone "What is Big in Your life?", the usual answers revolve around the success and failure that one faced during their journey.But, no one acknowledges the process they have undergone to reach that stage or the core values that they have gained even when they faced failure. Life is not about piling up on success or leaving our failures behind, its all about the journey we undergo and how we use these nuggets of experience to mould ourselves for our future endeavors. In my life, this simple concept has been the backbone to keep my calm in success or tackle my failures.

The Beginning of New Things
My MDI Interview was scheduled on 7th March 2019 at 1 P.M. Nervousness and restlessness along with pinch of happiness were the emotions I was experiencing. Having donned my Peter England Suit, I was feeling confident. After the interview, I was content with myself as I knew I was able to make myself clear and I could not have answered any question more appropriately. With the benefit of hindsight, I could surely say that I did ace the interview. After successfully making it to one of the best B-Schools in the country, I surely remember how smart I was feeling in that Peter England Suit. The Aditya Birla Group has always had an impact on my life. From living in a house made of Ultratech cement, to using their Vodafone-Idea network to connect with my family when I’m not living in that home, From wearing Pantaloons apparel when hanging out to using the Idea Payments Bank to dutch the bill, the ABG Group has quietly become a part of my life.
