XL interview? Oh my sweet summer child! I vividly remember the day. Back then I was a young, fair, short heighted fellow who had failed terribly to grasp the CAT’s neck but as a slapdash stroke of lady luck, was awarded an XL call, my only call of the season. The venue was St. Xavier’s Mumbai although my memory fails to serve the exact date (circa Feb 2013) to me.
With the CAT done and dusted, the only hurdle that lies in front of MBA aspirants is the WAT GD-PI processes. And what better than to learn from the experience of those who have already made their way through the same hurdles. Here we are in Part 4 of this series, where we share the WAT-PI experience of Shubham Lohakare in his admission process for IIM Lucknow. A lot gets revealed in informal conversations over a coffee! So I decided to take it up with some of the bright minds at IIM Lucknow to discover who they are and how they achieved the milestones of success in their lives. In the second part of the series, we interact with Mayank Bansal who is an alumnus of NIT Bhopal, ex-Bajaj Auto, and an intern with Deloitte USI.
That time of the year again where everyone is working hard to clear the last leg of the journey to their dream B-schools. Reading up on their acads, reflecting back on their work experience, preparing their HR answer and what not. A time of intense pressure. I have decided to share my experience to help out the aspirant in whatever capacity that I can. But remember, the interview process is unique and random so be prepared for the worst and hope for the best. (Remember: don't go in there with any preconceived notions)
IIM interviews are an experience of a lifetime - regardless of whether you make it to the final merit list, your IIM interview is a story worth reminiscing even years later. This held true for Rishabh Singh who, after scoring a 99.25th percentile score in CAT 2018, was shortlisted for the WAT-PI round by his dream MBA institute - IIM Kozhikode. After a series of minor shocks before the interview, Rishabh finally made it to the nerve wracking interview room. What began as a very normal, routine business school interview turned into a confounding affair for Rishabh, who was left confused about his fate by the end of the personal interview. In this video re-enactment, we take you inside the IIM Kozhikode interview room and give you a glimpse of how candidates deal with stressful situations, take risks, and finally impress the panel enough to convert their interviews!
