It is hard to sail in the uncharted seas of entrepreneurship when the path or the destination is probably not known. Yet the thrill of the journey convinced me to take up a career path in Entrepreneurship in web development after my engineering. I am passionate about programming and the feeling of working for myself convinced me to take the risky path.
Life is not just a simple road but it has many ups and downs and that’s the beauty. My life is no different; I too had many hurdles to cross and I am still fighting my way out. Everything started 20 years back when my parents came to know that I had a Hemiplegia and it would be a miracle if I ever lived a normal life. But my mother was determined to turn this miracle into reality. She left no stone unturned, from visiting every big hospital in India to making me do physiotherapy for 10 hours a day for 12 years.
Another meeting at the weekly entrepreneurs' meet was about to end. The task for the week was to find a one-word substitute for a group of words. I read and re-read the words "Bandra-Worli Sea Link, Car Tyre, Home Sweet Home, SIP, Indian Railways, Fashion, Disappearing Distances". While I was pondering over the words, I got a call from my mother.
Aditya Birla group has touched my life in a diverse number of ways. From the sim card I use to the clothes that I wear, Aditya Birla products are a part of my life, whether I realize it or not. That's the beauty of their products I feel, that they can connect to the masses on a subliminal level across the entire range of the spectrum.
Being a happy-go-lucky person all my life, I have tried to sail the ship of my life without losing control at the various hiccups I have had on the way. The closest I came to losing my calm was during the disastrous floods that affected the state of Kerala in August 2018. 15th August, being a national holiday, was already decided as the day I would take my much-needed break after the hectic week I had.
What is it in this world that measures a person’s value? Is it the Bank balance he has, the number of cars he owns or is it something intangible or nuanced that the person fails to see, but the world around him feels and reciprocates to? Well, I am a believer in the latter. For me, it’s a value that we hold unconsciously with us, reflected both in our actions & conversations, one which we develop over time with the experiences we face.
Challenges are a part and parcel of life. A life without challenges will be too boring. Challenges test your resilience towards difficult or unknown situations. They make you wiser and improve your capabilities. The most important thing is to challenge yourself to greater heights. Each challenge that you set for yourself should help you become better.
Summer internships are a crucial part of one's B-school phase, as one gets a flavour of how life post-MBA would turn out to be in your chosen domain and company. It gives you an ample amount of information and experience to decide what you actually want to do against what you thought you would like to do. Right from the time I had stepped into the college, I had heard quite a lot about Consulting and the firm A.T Kearney from seniors and liked the culture and the people constituting the firm, from what I heard and researched.
