The Cabinet today approved the IIM Bill which has been under consideration for almost 4 years and has courted its share of controversy as well. The IIMs will now have complete autonomy to manage the institution in terms of administration, recruitment and daily functioning. We believe it is excellent news for all the IIMs but especially the old IIMs who should now be able to innovate and be more adventurous. Participation of industry experts and alumni in the running of the institution will be easier too.

Dr. Falguni Vasavada-Oza is a double gold medalist working as an Associate Professor, Marketing Area and the Chairperson of Online Programmes at MICA. Prior to MICA, she has worked with the MBA Department of Saurashtra University and Christ College. Currently, she is working on Advertising and IMC, Account Planning, Social Media Insights, Youth as Consumers, Portrayals in Advertising, Content Analysis of Commercials and Public Relations.
Dr. Chattopadhyay holds a PhD degree from Aligarh Muslim University in the area of Marketing Strategy. Prior to being the director at IMT Ghaziabad, he has held leadership positions in two leading institutions of India as Dean, MICA, Ahmedabad and as Deputy Director at S P Jain Institute of Management & Research (SPJIMR), Mumbai. Dr. Chattopadhyay believes in Internationalisation of Indian institutions and has presented across various International forums of AACSB and GMAC. At IMT-Ghaziabad, Dr Chattopadhyay dreams of creating a ‘Global Indian B-School’ under his dynamic leadership.
