Mr Sudeep Nair, Global Head for the Strategic Business Transformation Unit at Jardine Lloyd Thompson(JLT) India addressed the participants of IIM Indore PGP at Mumbai on 23rd February 2014. He shared his thoughts on the topic “Consulting in the IT Industry”. The interaction was very informative with a lot of insights being shared about the consulting domain.
Final Placements for IIM Ahmedabad concluded recently, with all 378 students achieving placements by the third cluster. The summer placements at IIM Ahmedabad had been equally impressive, in terms of the sheer number of marquee names, and the number of students hired by these names on campus. IIM A has repeated its blockbuster performance during finals. Accenture Strategy Consulting hired 18 students at the final placements, and BCG hired 15 students. All these are figures for the PGP programme.
Banking, Financial Services and Insurance (BFSI) emerged as the largest recruiter in the recently concluded summer placements conducted at IIM Shillong.Despite a 10 per cent increase in batch size, the successful trend from the previous year continued to be prominent.
TISS Mumbai is well known for running one of the best HR programmes in the country (the Human Resources Management and Labour Relations programme). We had begun featuring their placement reports last year, starting with summer placements for the batch of 2015. You can read that report here. We noted that the sixty student batch had a pretty wide choice of recruiters across industries.
With 18 months having passed after graduation of the class of 2012, we thought it might be a good time to ask – What percentage of graduates from the batch of 2012 has changed their jobs. Generally it takes a little over a year for graduates to assess their career prospects with the jobs they got placed into. The number of job changes within an eighteen month time frame, therefore, gives us an estimate of a number of things:
This is the first in our series of placement reports for 2014. XLRI has had enjoyed another great year in final placements. Last year's performance has been exceeded on almost all parameters, be it number of PPOs, breadth and diversity of profiles, number of companies making offers, and the list of marquee recruiters.
