The first phone I purchased had a sim-card of Idea which I am still loyal to.
All of us have faced challenges in our life, big or small, it is how we deal with them that is a true test of our character. Although for the most part, I have lived a sheltered life, there have been a few obstacles in my way I have had to overcome. When I was 10 years old, I lost a close member of my family, to add to this I was also diagnosed with a hormonal disease that led me unable to function normally for several months. During this time, I missed a lot of school work
There have been 2 challenges in my life which I have overcome and which have shaped my attitude and personality. The first was when I was 7 years old and used to get bullied by a senior in my school bus. I used to get physically assaulted and humiliated by this boy and despite various complaints, this behaviour continued. Finally I realised that the only way to put a stop to this was to fight back. This was when my parents made me join karate class, which I have been practising for the past 16 years. What started as a simple defence mechanism, ended up being a life-altering lesson.
Challenges are a part and parcel of every person’s life, and challenges help me try until I succeed. Every person in life faces a variety of challenges which might be as small as waking up on time and can be as big as trying multiple shifts every day to make ends meet. For me, it is important to take these challenges head-on and give it my best to overcome them. For me, a major challenge over the last couple of years has been my fitness. Instead of cribbing and letting myself down and having self-pity, I decided to work on it. Instead of looking at the final objective of losing 15 kg weight, I focused on breaking it down to smaller targets. It all started with me taking control of my diet and transforming it.
When we were children, almost all of us wanted to grow fast and be teenagers fantasizing of the freedom one has in high school and college. But once we reach that level, we wanted even more independence and wanted to start working as soon as possible so that we don’t have to ask for money from our parents. These are the phases of life, I think everyone goes through and so did I.
I landed in Mumbai a month ago to pursue my MBA from NMIMS. It was not my first time here, but this city looked new; so much prettier with so much more to offer. One of the sites that caught my attention was the majestic Bandra Worli Sea Link. Was pleasantly surprised to know that the same Ultratech cement went into the construction of the sea link as the one used for building up my own home back in Kolkata. It gave me a certain sense of assurance and satisfaction that the same bond that helped bridge a seemingly impossible distance is holding my home strong.
