This is the second time we are reporting IIFT Final Placements and based on data provided by the placement committee it can be said that the placements for Class of 2015 trump the placements that took place last year.
IIM Calcutta blazes away with another impressive year when it comes to Summer Placements for the junior batch. We have been covering Summer Placements at IIM C for 4 years now. It is amazing to see the consistency in bagging the top notch roles every year during summer internship hiring. Summer Internship hiring is more important at IIM Calcutta because most of the students in Consulting and many in banking get final offers soon after they return for the 2nd year to campus. This year the PPOs/PPIs have been raining across campuses but things are merrier at campuses like IIM Calcutta! Don't be surprised if almost 1/3rd of the batch gets offers just based on their summer internships. Based on the data below, the class of 2016 at Joka has got a terrific opportunity to give an extra-ordinary start to their career.
This is the fourth Summer Placement report at IIM Bangalore that we are reporting on InsideIIM.com. IIM Bangalore is one of the best schools in India and hence they are some sort of a benchmark which one can track as far as business school placements in India go. You have to consider yourself fortunate to be at IIM Bangalore. The fact that almost 10% of the batch is expected to intern abroad is quite impressive. Of course, one of the other highlights has been the pace at which people have got placed this year for summer internships.
We started reporting placements at JBIMS last year with the summer placement report for the batch of 2013-2015 in the InsideIIM format. During final placements, we couldn't report it in the InsideIIM format - we had to go ahead with an unverified report for the final placements for class of 2014. The summer placement process for the second batch of Dual Degree program in Global Supply Chain Management of Indian Institute of Management, Udaipur was successfully completed in April- May 2014. PGPX Summer Internship or “Experiential Learning Exercise” is an 8 week graded exercise. The goal of this exercise is to help students get hands-on experience of concepts in supply chain and operations. After the completion of internship project, students are graded by professors from Krannert School of Management, Purdue University. Students are also provided support by industry mentors as academic rigour is expected from students for internship projects..
This was the largest batch across IIMs (a total of over 550 students, with the IPM program also being included in the summer placement process). After the stellar performances of XLRI Jamshedpur, TISS and FMS Delhi, IIM Indore too has enjoyed a great run this season.
Summer placements this season have been something of a party, at least at top B schools. Students from here have been making their joy known on Facebook, and for once, the draconian Placecoms didn't seem to mind. From the victory dance at MDI Gurgaon, to euphoria at IIM L, B schools are having a good time. XLRI is having a great time. For the second year in succession, XLRI is the first to report its summer placements on InsideIIM. Summer placements were excellent for the batch of 2015 last year , especially in the form of a greater width and depth of profiles in finance. This year, it is even better.
