Have you ever faced failure continuously? Have you asked yourself "why am I not able to achieve anything in life"? A set of incidents in my life made me ask that question too. I was just 13 and had just started to enjoy my vacations by playing tennis, football and watching an endless amount of TV. Man that was life. One day my parents decided that I was wasting my time and joined me in an IIT coaching class.

I was approaching one of the biggest educational milestones in my life, the 10thstandard board exams. The exams were just around the corner and a new chapter was about to get unfolded. With schooling about to get over, it was also the time for the Farewell for our outgoing batch of 2012. This was an event very much awaited among us. The event to many of us symbolized that we had grown up and now can step out into the world into the career choices each one had decided. Finally, the invitation cards for the big day were distributed, a nicely designed and beautifully written invitation. But something caught my eye while reading, it was the mentioned dress code. All of us had to wear full formal dress for the event. Some were excited seeing this, some confused like me and others sulking that they had to wear a blazer in such hot weather.

A Whole New World
Aditya Birla Group is one of the biggest conglomerates in India touching the lives of millions of people everyday. The industrial group has its presence in almost all sectors – from textiles (Grasim), aluminium (Hindalco and Novelis), yarn (Nuvo), cement (Ultratech), telecom (Vodafone Idea Cellular), retail (Aditya Birla Retail), chemicals (Aditya Birla Chemicals) and so on. Most of these companies are among the top ten in their sector and while they continue to grow, the company’s garment names such as Van Heusen, Peter England and Louis Philippe push the branding further. Aditya Birla Group has been an important part of my journey to India’s top B-School. For all my interviews I needed formals. I tried many different clothing brands for the formals but nothing worked. Finally I visited Peter England and I got what I wanted. Wearing a suit that fits your body shape perfectly boosts your confidence a lot. Talking about the experience at the interviews, it was a completely different and new experience for me. During the interviews I got the chance to interact with many aspirants and was surprised to see how many people had their dream company as Aditya Birla Group like me. After starting in 1857, Aditya Birla Group has been able to touch the lives of millions of people through their products and services. After all the interviews and hard work I am finally here at IIFT, Delhi, looking forward to a completely new phase of my life. I wish someday I am also able to impact the lives of people.

Money and hardwork, we as a whole had a kept running for it right around three years back. Solid we stood and acknowledged the better approaches for taking care of our day by day lives. A large portion of us never had a lot to do with online installments and new ideas were coming up to contact each individual in India. How I grew up between training sessions | Ria Bhargava, IIFT
“It’s 5am, I’m late for my training maa” is how most of my mornings in school started. Believing in the centuries old maxim of having breakfast like a king, my mother wouldn’t go a day without rolling a chappati with my favorite bhindi ki sabzi in freshwrapp and handing it to me at our home’s porch right before I boarded the car. I don’t train anymore, but the scent of freshness of that maa k haath ka parantha-sabzi nicely wrapped in a freshwrapp gushes back each morning as I descend for breakfast to the hostel mess. However, some things never change, even here at IIFT I run late for class and end up wrapping my share of breakfast in our very trusted freshwrapp that keeps my food absolutely fresh and makes it easy to carry.
