I converted IIM Udaipur in one of the later lists & I wouldn’t be overselling if I say that it was my dream college. I followed IIM Udaipur on every possible social media platform for good four months going through every possible video on YouTube to get a glimpse of what would it be like to be a part of an institute which is set in the heart of Aravalis. But credit must be given to MIIC – Media and Industry Interaction cell for their constant efforts in keeping us updated about everything going on in the admission process.
Scoring 98.02 percentile in CAT, I got calls from every new IIM & Most prestigious institutes in India, but as with most MBA aspirants, I wanted to Join an IIM and a good one at that. While Choosing which colleges should I be targeting I contacted every friend to mine who has done MBA and presented them with what I am looking for from an MBA program? Having worked for close to four years in Corporate, I wanted the program to add considerable value to my Personal and Profession life. As with most Aspirant researching which college to join, Placement figures become a major criterion for selecting a particular college. After consultation with many, the point that was highlighted was that Placement figure is just one variable in this polynomial equation and one has to give equal emphasis to academic excellence, an overall personality development, and transparency that the college offers. Placement figures for most colleges in my portfolio were more or less similar with similar companies coming in for final placements. As for Academic excellence, IIMs represent its epitome in India, but during my research, I read about IIM Udaipur’s Director Prof. Janat Shah who has been the Director of the institute since its inception and was the only Director amongst the new IIMs who got a tenure extension in IIM Udaipur. Through the grapevine, I heard that IIM Udaipur is Mr. Shah’s brainchild and Academic Excellence and Research are the two aspects that he most emphasizes on. So Academic Excellence as the criteria was sorted. Then came the transparency and this is one area where IIM Udaipur scores better than any of the colleges I came across. Audited Placement reports and timely and crystal-clear updates about the waitlist movement signified that the words mentioned on IIM Udaipur’s website are not just for the sake of it. They stand by them. All this made me IIM Udaipur my dream college and after finally getting into it institute I realized my dream.

As my interest lies in the Marketing and Fashion and retail is the industry I want to be a part of Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Limited. With a huge portfolio of renowned brands Like Peter England, Van Heusen and Louis Philippe under its name it provides ample opportunity for someone like me to learn the intricacies of Apparel business and grow along the way. Being part of a company, which is the market leader provides me to explore new avenues in various markets across the globe. Thus, it will be a privilege if I can be a part of such a company which is an institute in itself.
