As I sit here sipping coffee in my cosy hostel room, I see the 1st year students going around the hostel trying to settle in their new rooms, getting to know each other and wondering what the following 2 years hold for them. This got me thinking about when I first arrived at the beautiful campus of IIM Indore a year ago, nervous yet excited. It was my first time living away from home and having to live all by myself was something couldn’t imagine. But then I met my crazy set of friends! How do I introduce them? There’s so much to tell, I can barely decide from where I should start from. Doing assignments together, pulling each other’s legs, sharing an aloo paratha at night mess around 3am and then running late to those early morning lectures almost every day, now turned from a set of friends to a family.
How do I introduce my friends? It is said that, “A man is a company he keeps.” So, I will be sharing what I have learned from each one of my friend that helped me grow as an individual and turned me into who I am today from being a nervous new girl in the city to a fearless, confident one.
The Fighter
No, he doesn’t keep on picking fights with us! He is the one who taught us how to stand up for yourself. No matter what happens, he never gives up till the end. Debating against him? There’s no way one can win!
Mr. Organiser
This guy taught us preparedness! If the group is palling a road trip, he is the one to make sure all the people are on board, make sure no one misses any class and everybody on the same page. He will book tickets in advance and keeps a count of the number people as well as their bags! Attention to detail and being ready to face any situation is the biggest learning from this friend.
The glue of the group
The one whose heart is pure gold. The one who listens to every problem of their friend, no matter how stupid and crazy those issues might be. This person will always hear out both sides in a fight, and make sure everyone patches up. She keeps us all together. She taught us true meaning of love and friendship. From dancing and laughing together, to standing by my side all day long while I was in the hospital, we have shared so much together. She is no less than a sister to me!
The one who is always there!
3am: I say, “I am hungry”, they say “One my way”.
This person doesn’t know how to say no! Sometimes that acts negatively for him with people taking advantage but that doesn’t affect him. He says the true joy of life is in giving and sharing. He will always try his best to help everyone whether they are his friends or not. If you are this guy’s friend, you will always have someone to go to.

I have always been interested in fashion since childhood. Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail (ABFRL) in a firm that I have always looked up to. ABFRL is a consolidated firm that has most of the tops brands, like Van Heusen, Lois Phillip, Allen Solly, Peter England, Pantaloons, Forever 21, People and many more in its bucket. ABFRL has combined revenue of INR 7,181 crore for FY 2018 and EBITDA of INR 501 crore for FY 2018 and is India’s largest fashion network. As a marketing student and a fashion enthusiast, the accomplishments of ABFRL has always made me want to work with the firm. I think I will have a lot to learn from ABFRL
