When it comes to choosing either Finance or Marketing, there always seems to be a confusion in the minds of B-school students. For some, it comes as a natural choice given the academic backgrounds and interests they have. For others, it's a journey that they take during their B-school life. We have two IMT Ghaziabad students Shantanu Shivam and Kanav Kaushal, who not only figured out what they would like their careers to look like after their B-school, but cracked marquee companies like ITC and Goldman Sachs from campus as well. In this conversation, we dive deeper into how you get the coveted internship and convert it into a job at these companies.

For Shantanu, the choice of finance came later in life when he took up responsibilities in his college days dealing with money and numbers. For Kanav, the love for marketing grew after his engineering days. For many such students the realization of their preferred career choice comes as and when they know more about the prospects of a particular field.
Shantanu and Kanav talk in detail about the process that they went through for selection in Goldman Sachs and ITC and how they converted the internships into PPOs in great detail. They also talk about what students should look out for when they are choosing a particular company or field to work with.
