The first day I visited the campus, I had to travel for about 2 hours, passing by the green mountains and stone buildings of Udaipur to reach the amazing place in Balicha where I would be spending my next two years. The campus is surrounded by bushy mountains and steep valleys. The usual perception of an IIM or an IIT would be to have a geeky vibe about it. Contradicting to that, the IIM Udaipur campus has a scenic vibe to it. With the stone brick walls and the favorable climatic conditions, it is an add on to the education life the students have for the two years of MBA course.
The culture of the IIM Udaipur is unique in the sense that the bonding between the students is to the extent of more than just friendship. The student community move as one in any initiatives taken up by it. The functional clubs and committees in the campus acts as in the interest of bringing up the students up-to date with the trends and situations in the industry. Along with the functional clubs, the social clubs and committees play a vital role in the student life at IIM Udaipur. The SIG’s like CreArt or CulComm connects the students with other aspects of life apart from just studies. The sports committee organizes and facilitates the outdoor sports often. The major events for the clubs and committees are the annual fests that are conducted in the campus. All the clubs and committees have their own signature fests and events which brings the corporate sector to have a look at what we are as a IIM community.
The major factor that makes the IIM Udaipur unique is that majority of the activities in the campus are students managed. From the enrollment of new batch of students to the placements of the batch, everything is managed by the student community. The clubs and committees takes the responsibilities and makes things happen in the campus. The students decide and choose what subjects are to be taught and which faculty would teach. All the activities like the maintenance of the mess or the infrastructure are managed by the students.
IIM Udaipur provides its students not only with just the high standard education but also the platform to have a lifetime of experience. Students own the college and not just learn about the so called management in the classes but also gets to have real time experience with the activities and events in the college. It helps in having a transforming journey for a person to excel in every aspect of life.

I want to work on the Fashion and Retail segment, Pantaloons of Aditya Birla Group. The Fashion is a huge growth sector and the pantaloons is striving to conquer the leading position in it. I believe it provides me a conducive environment for experimentation, learning, and development in various functions. Providing a crucial experience in a challenging and uncertain environment to deal with unexpected problems. The open door policy helps new entrants participate in decision-making process and exposes them to the veteran thinking minds of the organization. I want to be a part of the organization which believes in mutual respect and with a wonderful work culture.
