When it was confirmed that IIM Udaipur is ‘The Destination’ for me and I’ll be spending the next two years of my life at IIM Udaipur Balicha campus I was excited. And as a result of it, I started to learn few things about the campus from the internet like it is situated outside the city and spread across more than 250 acres with lush greeneries around the campus. It has got all the infrastructure that one requires to excel in academics like IT resources, Bloomberg labs, proper classrooms and library also apart from this it has got many facilities for recreational activities like 24/7 gym, football field, badminton and volleyball court among other options.
However, when I actually came to the campus all my preconceived notion just vanished and it kind off started creating a fresh picture of itself. The beauty of the campus is just at par. The architectural design has been made keeping the rich heritage and culture of Udaipur in mind. With the picturesque view all around the campus since it is situated on the Aravalli ’s mountain ranges, it gives the feeling that you are on top of the world. Although the campus is still under construction that has never made caused us the feeling that this campus is lacking something.
As a few days passed I noticed IIM Udaipur has got a different vibe to it. The whole campus, the walls of Balicha comes to life and adds beauty to the IIM Udaipur. Later I realized that it is not just the amazing campus but the people living on the campus that is adding life to the beautiful architectural setting. The values that IIM Udaipur stands for are so engraved into the hearts of people living here that it reflects in the personalities of each and every member of the IIMU family. People here reaching out for each other, breaking barriers and pushing their limits to offer help itself says about the culture here. And just within a few days, one can feel the sense of belongingness.
The kingdom of Balicha as it is referred may have different realms but the spirit of IIM Udaipur has always triumphed.
Which ABG company would he/she wants to work for and why?
As I have an inclination towards finance, I would like work for Aditya Birla Capital limited. The reason being it is one of the largest financial service players in India. And this would give me an opportunity to learn from the top industry stalwarts. And get to know the nuances of how to create and manage such a big brand. And also by being associated with ABCL, I would be able to learn about the value system that this brand possesses, to be a leader and role model and to be a broad-based and integrated player.
