Although the qualities that make IIM Indore unique are many, the one that comes to mind first is the healthy environment on campus. The saying ‘healthy mind in a healthy body’ comes true here as is evident by the abundance of facilities and equipment that promote fitness from an Olympic sized swimming pool to a football field despite its small size of about 200 acres which houses about 1500 students. The students, in turn, reciprocate the efforts of the management by making use of these facilities regularly. This ecosystem that promotes health is quite unique and unexpected for me when I joined a management institute. Where I was expecting a cold, efficient environment where people move as much as is required, I was instead greeted by an active and happening campus where everyone from the students to the most senior professors were actively taking control of their own health and lived with absolute discipline towards both their health goals and intellectual pursuits. It’s not an uncommon sight to find mostly professors or Ph.D. students filling the gym on any day. Everyone here is equally devoted to finding the perfect balance between their work and play. Quite literally, it seems.
Having spent a substantial time in this place, I can say that it’s impossible to not develop an appreciation for the culture here and eventually, to not have a lasting change in your life, having experienced the energetic and stimulating lifestyle of IIM Indore.
All of this, eventually, culminates into a campus which is self-sufficient. And the student body that so effortlessly takes care of the activities on campus and an efficient administration that manages the campus so well are proof of this. Apart from the culture, it’s probably also the fact that it’s situated on a mountain that contributes to our health but that’s probably another story.
Which ABG company would you want to work for and why?
I would like to work for Aditya Birla Capital since I am a student quite interested in Finance and Aditya Birla capital is one of the best financial services business in India. Hence, I would find ample opportunities to grow and learn from the best. Apart from this, the sheer scale of their business will expose me to conditions that will ensure that I am able to use my skills to the fullest while benefitting the company as well.
