The uniqueness of my campus FMS, Delhi University is the pedagogy and legacy it carries as the oldest management institute of the country with 60+ years in the field. Here the student-faculty ratio is the very good and average experience of each professor is 30 years. Our alumni are spread across the world and we have 50+ CXO’s who come and visit the campus regularly. They guide us and give an overall exposure to the industry and help us decide on our career wisely. Our extra-curricular achievements and the way our campus students excel in competitions and extracurriculars is a reason of envy to other B-schools of India.

Memorable classroom experience:

My memorable classroom experience was being inducted into FMS. Being a fresh student on the campus we were expecting a warm welcome, but before we could reach the campus we a load of assignments and tasks from our MSA team. MSA is the management students association which effectively manages campus. The deadlines and tasks made our life so hectic that we were completely exhausted by the end of the day which used to be around 4:00 Am every day. After this experience of  2 weeks, we were welcomed warmly by our senior batch and were explained that this induction is a legacy event which goes on every year and this is how one gets ready for the B-school and corporate world.

My crazy batchmates:

  • J Swathi: My friend Swathi is a very interesting person. She has roamed around the world and has visited 4 countries. Her vision is to travel around the world and visit every continent. I look at her potential and willpower and am sure she’ll achieve this.
  • A Sahithi: She is a child prodigy in English. She has started reading English at age of 6 and since then she has nearly read 1500 books. She is an aspiring writer. When I asked her why she is doing an MBA, she said that being a writer is her dream and this has nothing to with a good career in management. In fact, all the crazy experiences of MBA and the corporate world is going to give her content and she is going to leverage these experiences for content.
  • Boda Manoj: This classmate of mine is the craziest one on the campus. Our seniors gave us tasks to get acquainted with each other as a part of induction. One of such tasks was to send a crazy picture of us in some sports attire and tell something about the favorite sport. He simply put a hilarious quote as the picture and uploaded it. It goes like this: “well I am not much into sports, the only sport I play is shopping which involves a lot of walking, sometimes running too if there is a sale”. He was called to the front to explain the same, he showed it to all of us on the projector. Everyone found it funny and this has made him an overnight star.

I would like to work for Idea of ABG:

I find huge potential in the telecom industry in India. The telecom industry has recently undergone major disruptions and this has changed the dynamics of the sector. I see huge potential in IOT – the internet of things where Idea’s 5G network could be leveraged for huge profits.  I would like to work for such a company where I can lead the company through the tumultuous situations and be a trendsetter where I can create value for my stakeholders and also contribute to the connectivity in India.
