It has been around a month and I have had a range of experience in such a small interval. The time has been amazing. Ours is a small campus and the batch strength is also small, 210, so the batch gets closely knit during the induction program that we have before the official classes start. The sessions remain very engaging and tasks are floated in the sessions and random teams are made. There are so many of these tasks that by the end of induction you get to be in teams with almost all the students in the batch and this helps in creating a bond, like that of a family. The domain specific societies that are run here are totally student run and thus there is better communication to the junior batch as the session taking seniors completely understand the situation of their juniors and how to go about solving them. There is a lot learned in these sessions which helps not only in the curriculum but better understanding the type of roles we will be supposed to carry out once we start our corporate life. This close-knit relation between the juniors and seniors makes my campus unique.
A memorable classroom experience in my B-School
The induction program has got over just a couple of weeks before and there were numerous fun sessions that were carried out during the time of induction. The most memorable of them was the one by the cultural society of FMS. We were divided in random groups of 8-9 people and all the groups were supposed to prepare a funny skit which also involved singing and dancing. There were many brilliant performances, I got to see amazing talents from singing to dancing to amazing acting. It was really surprising for me to see such a varied level of talents at one place. I was awestruck. I had not been involved in any cultural activity since my childhood, so, it was a kind of coming out of shell moment for me and I enjoyed the process a lot.
Introducing some of my crazy batchmates
Here at the campus I have seen numerous talents but the few that have stood out and I have had most interaction with are:
- Avinash Yadav
At first, he seemed like someone who is always calling for trouble. His way of walking and carrying out basic functions looked tapori like. But this was just the first impression and it changed quite quickly. I realized that he is a very knowledgeable person and knows a lot about the social conduct. I have been personally guided by him in many aspects and I have found his suggestions quite relevant. Coming to his walking and running posture, even he realises the faults in them and has been consciously trying to correct them. He is now a roommate of mine and I enjoy his company a lot.
- Garima Gupta
You will look at her and say that she is a probably at most a teenager studying in maybe 10th or 11th standard, but once you talk to him you realise that you have misjudged her completely. She is a genius, she completed her CA at the age of 20, utterly unbelievable. It took her just 4 years(minimum time) to complete the course, and she has great grades too. Just start her on finance and she will tell you about the financial statements in a jiffy. This is not all, she is a great dancer too, this I found out at the fresher's party. This girl is an all-rounder.
- Mohit Yadav1
Yes, I have written 1 along with the name because there are going to be two entries by the same name. He is the elder one. He is the crazy guy among my friends, not shy of attempting anything new and at the same time he is very innocent and tells straight to your face what he feels of you, it can be hurting sometimes. During an event in induction, he played Kejriwal and it was a really funny experience, he was hugging all the members at the stage with him constantly mimicking Kejriwal’s cough. It was not done well at all and we ridiculed him later for that.
- Mohit Yadav2
Here comes the second Mohit. He is the youngest in the group, although he does not seem so. He is very wise for his age and always provides practical and easily applicable solutions to the problems you ask from him. He is very clear about what career he is going to make and probably most confident among my friends on how is he going to go about it. He manages the tasks given by the societies very well and puts his maximum effort as well as encourages us to do the same. He is the wise guy in the group and always helps in whatever way he can.
Which ABG company I would like to work for and why?
The ABG company I would like to work for is idea cellular. It is a well-known brand pan India and recently it has decided to merge with Vodafone to become the biggest player in the telecom industry in India. This will further enhance the reputation of the company and the span of operations will increase. Working there will provide me with the opportunity to have the experience of working at a large scale and build my skills. It will not only help me build professionally but there will be personal growth as well, as the people that will form my peer group at such an institution will help in my continuous improvement.
