In the first year of MBA curriculum, IIM Indore offers a very unique workshop called Design Thinking. This two-day workshop allows the students to develop a user-centric approach to innovation and problem-solving. It gives the participants the opportunity to unleash the innate creative self & think beyond what seems possible solution is.
What makes our campus Unique?
The most important thing which makes my campus unique is the Integrated Programme in Management, IPM course which is unique to our institute. This programme is a wonderful way to create managers by nurturing them from the beginning, right after their 12th. This aims at taking the right kind of students who are interested in management education right after their 12th, they have that kind of clear vision from the beginning and that makes them different from the PGP students who thought of taking management education at a later stage in life. I believe that by creating this program, it has helped my institute in creating a unique place for itself among other institutes.
So basically before joining IIM Udaipur like many of us, I was in a great dilemma. I come from an engineering background with B.Tech from NIT Jaipur and work experience of 22 months in TATA MOTORS. First of all, leaving such a lucrative job and going for MBA that too from India was itself a tough decision to make but I always had a desire to skill my management skills and the desire strengthened after working with TATA MOTORS, hence I decided to give CAT and join a B school which will sharpen my management skills.
Although the qualities that make IIM Indore unique are many, the one that comes to mind first is the healthy environment on campus. The saying ‘healthy mind in a healthy body’ comes true here as is evident by the abundance of facilities and equipment that promote fitness from an Olympic sized swimming pool to a football field despite its small size of about 200 acres which houses about 1500 students. The students, in turn, reciprocate the efforts of the management by making use of these facilities regularly. This ecosystem that promotes health is quite unique and unexpected for me when I joined a management institute. Where I was expecting a cold, efficient environment where people move as much as is required, I was instead greeted by an active and happening campus where everyone from the students to the most senior professors were actively taking control of their own health and lived with absolute discipline towards both their health goals and intellectual pursuits. It’s not an uncommon sight to find mostly professors or Ph.D. students filling the gym on any day. Everyone here is equally devoted to finding the perfect balance between their work and play. Quite literally, it seems.
IIM Udaipur is located around 12km from Udaipur main city which is one of the busiest tourist attraction of in India. IIM Udaipur became operational from 2011 in a temporary campus located in a Polymer Science Building, Mohanlal Sukhadia University (MLSU). Its main campus is at Balicha area of Udaipur which have around 253 acres of land. The best thing about IIM Udaipur location is that it is far from the city and located in mountains far from the rush of the city.
I am a student of IIM Indore. We had eight sections in the First Year of our course, or PGP-I as we call it.
