XIMB Campus Life - A Short Sneak Peek

XIMB Campus Life - A Short Sneak Peek

XIMB is a residential b-school where you spend most of the time in the campus. You get to interact with your seniors and peers at any point of time. You meet people from various backgrounds and culture and this makes our campus very diverse. It has a full time faculty pool with great qualification, industry experience and excellent academic achievement who stay in our campus only. The most beautiful thing about our campus is that the seniors are ready to help the juniors at any point of time. They are very helpful and guide us right from the Day 1 of our joining. Our hostels are divided into many blocks and we have inter block competition organized every year. This improves the interaction among the students. We have, Xpressions (the management fest of Ximb), the biggest B school fests in eastern India which are being held on our campus. When it comes to infrastructure, it is also one of the best B schools with 24 hours of wifi and well-equipped library. We, as students are here in the campus for a period of two years. But we have the mess bhainas and the administrative people helping the students every year and they have served our institution/campus for decades. They help the students every year, thereby facilitating our stay in the campus. To sum up all, these things make my campus unique.

A Tale Of Quirky Introductions - IIM Udaipur

A Tale Of Quirky Introductions - IIM Udaipur

Coming straight from St. Xavier’s College, Kolkata, I was prepared for the academic rigour of IIM Udaipur. This institute is particularly known for its focus on academics. Like other b-schools this institute is not working as Monster.com, rather this institute is focused on making “learned manager”. Placement is not the only focus of this institute which makes it unique.

A Memorable Classroom Experience At IIM Indore

A Memorable Classroom Experience At IIM Indore

When someone asks me about my memorable class experiences, I find it really hard to identify which one to mention as there have been numerous such class experiences which I’ll cherish throughout my life. From the start of my MBA journey at IIM Indore to the end of the amazing first year, I always had a feeling of gratification to be a student of some of the best faculties across the country. I would like to share one of the most recent class experiences which I had in the last class of Human Resource Management. To give a brief background about what makes it special, it’s the kind of effort that our faculty for the course, Dr. Kamal K Jain used to make for each of the classes he conducted. First of all, looking at him I always used to think which 70’s hero he resembles, but was never able to figure it out. Secondly, the way he used to relate the case to be discussed in the class with some old Hindi song, and starting the class playing that song, made me fall in love with his way of teaching even more (as I am quite fond of listening old hindi songs). Talking about the last class, he did a quick recap of all the concepts that we had learned throughout the course. I was quite keen to see how someone who has maintained students’ interest throughout his course is going to bring an end to it. And there it comes, suddenly he plays a song.. “Bhula dena mujhe, hai alvida tujhe, tujhe jeena hai, mere bina.. Hai ye safar tera, ye rasta tera, tujhe jeena hai, mere bina..” And the entire class was just quiet, completely quiet. Maybe, each of the student turned quite emotional at that time, as was I. And then came another surprise element for all of us. He presented on screen, pictures of all the students of the class arranged within the abbreviation HRM. That filled me with much more respect for him since there are very few faculties that make such amount of effort to bid a nice farewell to their students. At this point, I just wish that, before leaving IIM Indore, I get another chance to be his student, once again.

The One With The Starry Night At IIM Indore - Aishwarya Premdas

Let’s start with me introducing my band of Weirdos (yes, we call ourselves that and we are damn proud of it, well everyone except Shanil who thinks he is too cool to be one of us). We have a Mechanical nerdie called Divyesh whose life purpose lies in gymming and having chai. I repeat, chai and not tea. Then we have Ankitha, who is a half CA (her own words) aspiring to be an actress. She just auditioned for Arjun Reddy (Telegu superhit)’s remake in Hindi. And then we have my bro, Shanil who is in love with his Finance professor and will give his left kidney for Manchester United match tickets. Only a week had passed since we entered our second year. Aah, the coveted, long awaited second year of b-school! After the routine of schezuan cheese sandwiches at Adda and then a round of badminton, we relaxed at our usual place, the terrace of Student Residence 05. Such beautiful sunsets and the cool breeze, unique to Prabandh Shikhar. Our home, the palace on the hill, IIM Indore.
