After the sleepless nights of end terms, filling up endless forms for internship formalities and packing belongings to get the good corners in cloak rooms, Holi this year came at the right time for IIM Indore. In between the long and strenuous schedules that an MBA entails, festivals come as moments in which students can just let go, relax, and have fun with friends.
With spring in the air and the end of the term approaching, Holi was a pleasant break as well as the mark of the last festival of the term for the folks at Kozhikode. The beautiful campus, sprawling across two hills, with its winding roads and fresh blooms was already welcoming for the celebration and Kozhikode had its Holi in style! The ground was all tainted in all possible shades of colors as desi Holi special music was being played in the background.
Life in an IIM can be hectic; you lose track of the days and the hours start feeling that much longer. The festival celebrations bring the numerous gears of the IIM life to a pause and there is a burst of excitements and joy. CulComm at IIM Trichy brought the joys of Holi through their efforts and organized a thoroughly enjoyable event that brought relief and reinvigorated everyone from the academic rigor of project presentations, report submissions and packed week of quizzes!
The fourth edition of Melange, the annual alumni meet of IIM Shillong, was conducted by the Alumni Committee on February 6th. Since the previous edition of the event was held in Delhi, a trip down south to Bangalore was the unanimous choice for the organizers. With a majority of the alumni being based out of Bangalore, the decision was easier to make.
Located amidst hills and farmlands, the campus of IIM Sambalpur is peaceful and far away from the hubbub of the metropolis. However, the life as a student of an IIM can’t be that peaceful. Their lives revolve around classes, assignments, presentations and exams. Meeting the not-so-realistic deadlines for these components of evaluation is what majorly makes up for most of the time of a day here. Students at IIM Sambalpur run a number of student committees and clubs. On one hand, we have academic committee, commonly known as Acadcom, which acts as a liaison between the faculty and the students. This committee puts forward the issues pertaining to academic curriculum and students’ incessant requests for deadline extensions.
