Aditya Birla Group runs 18 charitable hospitals mostly serving village population which showcases the service attitude towards the nation nurturing the give and take relationship as we are utilising the resources so we also should cater our services back to the society and surroundings. I am a brand loyalist for the fashion brand “Van Heusen” when it comes to formal attire and also loyal for Vodafone telecom services. Almost every day, I can recall some or the other advertisements or real life incidents relating to the group’s flagship subsidiaries like Grasim Industries, Hindalco, Ultratech Cement, Vodafone Idea ltd., Aditya Birla Capital and other eminent brands in diverse sectors which all enjoy a strong brand awareness across the country irrespective of economic or any other factors.

Everyone has faced challenges at some point of time in

Everyone has faced challenges at some point of time in their life. They are a part of life and how you survive them that’s the biggest hurdle. Being a small-town girl myself, my parents advised me to settle down at the age of 25. I was working with a top MNC then and was waiting for my CAT results. I had pre-planned my MBA and it was in accordance with my career goals. I quit my job one month before the exam and started preparing for all the entrance exams. At that point of time I did not know that I would be diagnosed with a hormonal disorder that turned out to be an ovary cyst. I hail from Kerala where its pretty common to get married within 25-26 for girls and pregnancy had been the traditional way out of this hormonal disorder and that’s what my doctor and my family suggested. I knew that if I get married at this point of time then my MBA goals would suffer till a certain extent as the solution to my health disorder was not marriage but pregnancy. I started consulting other doctors from Bangalore and Mumbai and they were pretty much straight forward that this disorder does have solutions other than just getting pregnant. My family was not ready to believe that yet and by that time I had got an offer from one of the top B-schools in India. The decision was in my hands whether to go in the way my family is directing me towards or should I just try to get a career and start a family in a few years to come after I get settled myself. I took the decision of joining the B-school and continue on medication. Till now everything has been going pretty good except the hectic schedule in a B-school but I have learnt to take care of my health as well as balance my career. I hope everything turns out to be good if not perfect and I can go ahead with my dreams in life. In India, many women face this challenge of marriage or career. It’s an age-old belief that men are the earning member of the family. The only way to break this tradition lies in the hands of young women like us and we should show everyone how both can be balanced and we can live the best of both worlds.
