It is a common perception that it all ends with converting your dream B.school but the truth is that this is where this amazing journey begins. From enthusiastically engaging with your future batch mates in newly created WhatsApp groups to shopping for your home for the next 2 years it's a fun-filled experience. For me, it all started after choosing TAPMI. Eagerly waiting for the shortlist to be out and contemplating on my future, I never thought of things that come after getting selected.
I have grown up listening to my father’s advice of not giving up when the odds are against me. All the inspiring words that I have been exposed to, play in the back of my mind, in the form of auto-suggestions whenever I am confronted by difficult situations. Thus, I have developed a habit of always rising up to challenges, unafraid of the outcome.
I am blessed to have parents, family, friends, and teachers, who have helped me tackle through the difficulties and challenges, that I faced in my life, cushioning me from the hard blows of life. It was only after I graduated and started my job, that I faced my first true challenge. Graduating from Hotel Management, I was campus placed in sales role with a commercial kitchen equipment manufacturer. Starting the job I neither had the knowledge nor experience, my company also didn’t provide me with any sort of training. I was briefed about the company, handed a bundle of catalogues, and told to go outside and sell. I was not provided with any sort of leads or database. It was my first job, giving up was not an option, I went to the internet and compiled list of hotels, restaurants, hospitals, colleges, mess, anyone who would be in requirement of our product. I called up these establishments, got contact detail of their purchase manager, contacted them, pitched the product, and setup appointments with them. Nobody wanted to talk to a sales person, and those who did, weren’t interested in the product or setting up an appointment to hear more about it in detail. I was facing rejection left and right, and it was a very sombre experience, I was now in the harsh world that everybody had warned me about. Grasping at straws, I continued my journey, and got the hang of it.
Challenges are part of life and they make a person stronger and confident than before. If we go through the life story of any successful person, the most inspiring thing will be how they faced and overcame challenges that came on their way.

Each decision is like a ripple that spreads out uniformly, increases many folds, and everything changes a person’s future. While one can never be sure, I am confident that the person around me – My family, my teachers and my friends- have all influenced my life.
Challenges, failure, grief, loss - are all a significant part of our lives. No one can say that they have never had to go through any of these. It is these which mould our character and lend us strength to face and overcome all curve balls which LIFE throws at us. When we lose someone very close to us, we are faced with a tragedy, a pain so deep that we have no idea how to live through with it. But, time heals everything and sooner or later, we manage to pick ourselves up and move on with their memories forever in our hearts.
