Though I had been consistently working towards my goal since many years, the past two years were really about MBA and MBA alone. Every step I took was measured to ensure that it helped me get closer to my dream of joining a good business school.
What a person becomes in life is the outcome of many small things and challenges one faces and the way approaches them. I believe whatever I will achieve in life will be due to my attitude towards any problems and challenges, that I have built through out my academic life & a short professional life. Belonging to a middle-class small family, I was always taught to be disciplined, diligent and honest. These enrooted the qualities of resilience and perseverance within me.
The quote, “Our ability to handle life’s challenges is a measure of our strength of character” given by Sir Les Brown, has always resonated with me. Challenges are vital part of our lives and we have to overcome them in order to move and strive forward in our lives. Moreover, every challenge that we go through teaches us something about ourselves and also about life and prepares us and gives us a greater sense of strength to face the challenges that are yet to arrive. We all in our lives go through several challenges in our life, certain big and certain small. One of the greatest struggles that I went through was the time when my younger brother passed away two years ago, life at that point seemed impossible for everybody in the family, the pain and the helplessness that we all went through was unbearable. I had almost given up on life, but somewhere, something in me said, would he like to see us giving up, that feeling within me forced me to try to get things to normal, though after certain events happen, life cannot remain the same, but still we all tried and our trying to live our lives as beautifully as we can, because that is the way he would have wanted all of us to live. But after going through something as big as this, I am extremely sure that I could go through anything in life and will never give up over anything. I will fight through life for life and shall always be grateful for everything that I have in my life.
Life throws various challenges at us in different ways and in different phases of our life. The only way to deal with these challenges is to fight our fear and let go off the comfort zone. One such fear that has haunted me all my life was the fear of public speaking.
Aditya Birla Group has always surprised me with their strategy and plans. Surviving in a competitive and adverse market is a lot more difficult than it looks. Being a conglomerate with various businesses flourishing at a fast pace over the years, ABG is one among the those who have a large customer base and have a product line that caters to the needs of most segments. For example I have been using Peter England for a long time now and have always admired their quality and pricing strategies and there is Louis Philippe which caters to the need of luxury. The cellular network Idea which along with Vodafone has the largest market share in terms of customer base has survived the wave of Jio and has been offering better plans and tariffs with innovative and attractive marketing tactics which include advertisements- An Idea can change your life.
Ever since the foundation of Aditya Birla’s in Pilani in 1857, Aditya birla has been growing along with India’s global ambitions, catering to the requirement of varied class of people. Aditya Birla have made their milestone across varied industries in the country from manufacturing to Telecommunication , textiles, Financial services, retail services to name a few. This no doubt has made them India’s largest Multi National Company , with having operations as far as United States. Huge ripples create bigger impacts, and thus how has this huge empire touched my life? Indirectly has impacted me monetarily as my father had invested a small money sometime back in the Aditya Birla Fund, which has helped me for sufficing my college expenses. Now coming to the impact it has upon me, I am a middle class girl who is always up for a “reasonable” shopping experience. Entering into some brand stores would sometimes make me not want to shop ever again due to their prices, or their same old collections. I first discovered Pantaloons when I was shopping for my first internship in 2016. I had to buy a variety of clothes in a huge quantity. After a day’s search among so many stores and brand, I was disappointed and exhausted with their too high prices and less collections. Pantaloons was my last choice, I entered hoping to get disappointed , But it surprised me with their varied collection of western, Indian formals all under one roof. I was so satisfied in terms of Money, collections, style and most importantly the patient attitude of the staff members. Fast forward to my new job and I had to shop for it, and still opted for pantaloons because of their ever changing, trend setting collection. I still have my old clothes intact, Although I grew out of most, their legacy still continues and the first shop to come to my mind during college shopping was pantaloons too(Van Heusen, Allen Solly, and Liva are pretty awesome). I am so sure of having to visit pantaloons again for my next step of career and hoping to see even higher mind boggling collections soon! Can’t wait to see what is in store next!
