Overcoming challenges-TAPMI

Overcoming challenges-TAPMI

At the core of the success behind Aditya Birla Group, lies the struggles they’ve faced and how they overcame those challenges to become a well-accomplished company globally. Similarly so, I’ve faced a lot of challenges in my life till date. One of the few roadblocks in my life was during my weight loss. Even difficult because it was during my undergrad days, while my friends hung out in cafes, I had to avoid going out with them to avoid eating junk and to help in my weight loss. From the subtle mocks about being a little overweight to the health issues associated with it, I had to struggle through a year to lose around 24 kgs. There would be days where I would feel completely drained and hopeless and wondered if I really have to lose weight to meet society’s standard of beauty. But then, I realized in doing so I would become a better version of myself and it would be a major role in my self-growth. So I stayed motivated and faced the challenge. Another roadblock I faced was during the time of my CAT preparation. Juggling between the heavy work schedule and the coaching classes, it was too difficult for me to prepare for CAT. As my job involved working for long hours, stretching up to 12-14 hours a day sometimes. I was finding it difficult to cope with the daily studies, mock exams, classes, and workshops. But, I was very determined to pursue my MBA and I had to perform well in CAT. It was very difficult to find time for studies, I had to sacrifice on my breaks, my sleep, my leisure activities, etc. When the time came, I got a decent score in CAT and secured a seat in one of the most reputed MBA colleges in India-TAPMI. Through the struggles, I did not give up as I wanted to reach the end goal and achieve my ambition of getting an MBA degree from a top college.

Aditya Birla group is indeed a big name in my life. Right from the concrete used in my home to the toiletries I use. Everything is in some or the other way a contribution by this entity and the realization of this is happening now. During my under-graduation, when I did not have much money to buy expensive clothes, pantaloons had always been my option. And when I started working, even then it was pantaloons. It would not be wrong to say that pantaloons serve each pocket, but it would be more correct to say that it is the option for every pocket for every occasion and needs yet satisfying the greed of a brand. It is like if you need any essentials or groceries, you need to visit Big Bazaar, if you need clothes, you need to visit pantaloons or Central. Adding to this is the gifts you get in a well-structured form. The common card of payback point card that could interchangeably used in any of its store. The network that we use, Idea, is also a part of Aditya Birla Group. Although, all of this is a business, this group is nowhere behind in taking care of the society. It has a high contribution in the field of education and rural development. Something that I believe is not the part of its stated CSR but is done to increase its business is it is the bread and butter of more than one Lakh 20 Thousand people.

Success is a cycle where you learn to balance the unbalanced, grow from the contraction and encounter hurdles. All these challenges that I have faced in my life have taught me to be strong enough to handle failures and cherish success. It also taught me to stay focused towards the goals and the bigger picture which might seem farfetched at the moment.
