Around a year into my job as an SDE, I realised that I wasn't too satisfied in my role as a software developer. My cousin got into IIM Kozhikode in 2020 and he shared videos of the campus which made me wonder whether it was really a college and not a resort. When I started with my CAT preparation I used to surf in youtube, quora and InsideIIM about IIMs and IIM Kozhikode would always been on the top of my search history.
3 years ago, when I was talking to my mom about an MBA college located on a hilltop with a blanket of greenery surrounding it, we gave a look to each other which screamed “ THIS IS IT! "

My journey to IIM Bangalore is no different. Born in a small town of Bulandshahr in UP, I did not know what IIMs were (neither did anyone around me). It was late in my schooling years that I came to understand that these are some heavenly abodes where only a few make it and for those who make it, the lives are amazing forever. Little did I know about the realities of ‘the promised land’ or the process to get there, but something in me was deeply fascinated by what IIMs stood for: Excellence, passion, and perseverance.
"What new thing did you do today?" this little question by the founder and innovator, Mr Naval Godrej, was all over my workplace at Godrej & Boyce. I joined Godrej post completing my Chartered Accountancy in March 2021, thinking that is where my corporate journey starts, and the academic journey ends. My educational journey was filled with accolades, with 95.50% in the 10th ICSE, 96.80% in the 12th ISC, and an AIR 29 in the Chartered Accountancy exams. I carried forward the same rigour, passion and dedication to my workplace. All was routine until I first encountered a wall with this question painted on it! Suddenly I had a reflective tinkling and pondered how powerful this question was. Post that day, I started noting down one such small learning (no matter how small) in my diary.
Bhavya Sharma is a student of the PGDM Marketing 2023-2025 batch at SPJIMR Mumbai. She pursued fashion from NIFT Hyderabad, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Design (B.Des.) degree. She has a keen interest in art, and her work has been recognized on numerous occasions with achievements that include national and Asia-wide art and design competitions.
