The Vinod Gupta School of Management, IIT Kharagpur organized its annual B-school fest – Purvodaya, presented by IOCL from 31st January 2020 to 2nd February 2020 at IIT Kharagpur. The three-day extravaganza commenced in style with engaging talks by eminent personalities like Mr. C.K. Tiwari, Executive Director & Head, Indian Oil Institute of Petroleum Management, Indian Oil Corporation Limited, Mr. Pranav Bhanage and Ms. Sangeeta Bahl, a world record holder for being the oldest woman to have climbed Mt. Everest. The IOCL pavilion unveiled at the entrance to the institute provided a unique view of the operations in an IOCL plant through the use of Virtual Reality technology. The first day concluded on a joyful note with a standup-comedy session by renowned comic Brijesh Jha.
IIM Rohtak has collaborated with Ulster University, UK to offer a degree in Sports Management. Participants of Executive Post Graduate Diploma in Sports Management at IIM Rohtak will be eligible to obtain a Masters in Sports Management from Ulster University, UK. Ulster University will consider all course-work undertaken at IIM Rohtak towards the award of the Masters' degree. Interested student will have an option to enrol and undertake an online internship with Ulster University faculty. These activities are in addition to all subject courses offered in IIM Rohtak, which may take an additional duration of 6 months.

That is when we came up with the idea of starting a portal for every MBA student and graduate out there who are affected by the pandemic situation or does not have a wide network to reach out to. Since LinkedIn is the best platform where academicians and industry practitioners are present, we thought of starting the portal on LinkedIn itself.

Indian Institute of Management Rohtak inducted the 11th batch of the Post Graduate Programme on 19 June 2020. The induction and orientation programme was spread across 2 days. Amidst the ongoing pandemic, against all the odds, IIM Rohtak is first among all IIMs in India to adapt to online induction and orientation process. Institute geared up within a short span with a cutting edge IT infrastructure, enabling a seamless induction through an online platform.
As educational institutions face an unprecedented challenge in the form of the COVID-19 outbreak, particularly one that presents considerable obstacles to classroom learning, the IIM Nagpur Board of Governors proactively offered to convert this situation into a unique learning opportunity. With the kind support of Mr. CP Gurnani – MD & CEO, Tech Mahindra and Chairman, IIMN BoG and the esteemed Board members, IIM Nagpur hosted a series of online interactive sessions featuring a number of eminent personalities and area experts who shared their insights on a number of topics of contemporary interest.
Responding to the rapid developments associated with CoViD-19, IIM Nagpur completed the classes of the last week of the academic year 2019-20 and end-term examinations thereafter in online mode. In order to leverage the time available with the students between the conclusion of the academic term and commencement of the summer internships, the Institute has provided the students with an opportunity to interact with various guest speakers.
The virtual sessions, delivered by eminent speakers and facilitated by the IIM Nagpur team, were conducted over the course of the month of April. The series featured speakers who shared their insights on topics as diverse as ethics in current times, to the impact of artificial intelligence on businesses. A number of these sessions also focused on how businesses- such as those in the FMCG sector - are reinventing themselves to tackle the effects that the CoViD-19 pandemic has had on all sectors globally. Several sessions were devoted to discussing the elements of leadership that help managers to navigate through crises in the organization and convert them into opportunities. Mr. CP Gurnani (MD & CEO, Tech Mahindra) and Mr. Nimish Joshi (VP, Head of Strategy, OLA), for instance, emphasized on developing entrepreneurial vision with managerial skills and assuming ownership of one’s work. Ms. Padma Parthasarathy (SVP & Global Head, Consulting & Digital Services, Tech Mahindra), Mr. Parthasarathy R (Director, Varna Agro), and Mr. Chandra Kant (Professor, IBA) spoke about informed decision-making and the virtues of being agile informed and observant during the moment of crises. Learnings from his time as a recent graduate handling new responsibilities were shared by Mr. Amit Ambekar (VP & CMO, Spencer’s), while Ms. Neelam Dhawan (Head, India Advisory Board, IBM) shared valuable insights on coping with uncertainty and practicing behavioral changes to emerge successfully out of the prevailing situation, as well as similar crises in the future.

One represents danger and the other represents opportunity.” When our beloved nation was struck by the crisis, not only did we realise the danger that COVID 19 posed to the common man, but we collectively realised the opportunity to come together behind closed doors to address critical issues that the pandemic has bought about. The team came together at the “Coronathon” event held in late March and have been taking time from our daily schedule to create the platform COVIDFYI with zero funding.
