1. ‘Why Aditya Birla Group is big in your life’?
My name is Akanchcha Arvind, I hail from a tier 2 city Patna, India. I consider myself very privileged to have not faced many difficulties in life.
“Great businesses are never built on the quicksands of opportunism” inspiring words by Mr. Kumar Mangalam Birla, Chairman, Aditya Birla Group. Started in 1919 as a small jute manufacturing company is now one of the biggest multi-product corporations. Every one of us is associated with Aditya Birla Group in one way or the other. In our house we can easily recognize that cement which is used is from Khajurao, Chetak, Samrat and Birla Cement, the aluminum used is from Hindalco aluminum or Indian Aluminium Company Ltd, the Cushion Vinyl, the fabric and Floor & Wall Covering everything is directly or indirectly associated with Aditya Birla Group.
For the modern and quintessential urban Indian, life seems incomplete without certain names attached to the products they use. These names, defined by the dictionary as Brands, help customers differentiate between a myriad of products on offer in the market. They are a collection of values and unique qualities that people associate with a product. They offer a sense of satisfaction and assurance of quality to the consumer, so much that there are instances where whole generations often refuse to budge from a particular brand.
The alarm was going off incessantly. It was 6:05 and I had to be inside the school grounds in 25 minutes, spick and span for the morning assembly. I begrudgingly got up and got ready to go to my school, Aditya Birla Public School. Meanwhile, my father got ready to go to his job at the Grasim Industries limited. I gobbled up everything put in front of me on the breakfast table while my mother wrapped my lunch with Freshwrapp foils so that the food wouldn’t go cold. Being a 9-year-old boy in the small industrial town of Nagda, I never realized how much of an influence the Aditya Birla Group was in my life.
My childhood had been influenced by a multitude of factors of which my grandiose ancestral home takes a prominent place. Being born as a single child I was raised with all the love in the world by my parents and my grandfather adored me every single day of his life. I spent most of my vacations there. The beautiful country side sunrise, lush green trees all around and the petrichor in the monsoons had become an integral part of my life which trigger a sense of nostalgia whenever I come across such scenic settings. My ancestral home was a modestly sized beautiful pucca house. With time, the condition of the 80-year-old house deteriorated and in early 2018 we had to call the curtains down. Aditya Birla Group has always been an integral part of my life since childhood, as I fondly remember my father and I rushing to Pantaloons during festive seasons. I always dream of visiting my ancestral place every year to enjoy the memorable moments with my family from dusk till dawn. My emotional self came to life after we finished constructing a new house and UltraTech OPC was the unambiguous choice. Though the new house might not be in line with the tastes of the previous style but my dream to visit my ancestral home for over the decades to come will be sound and astounding. The star gazing, fresh smell of Pongal and the serenity of the surroundings of my home is all that breathes life into me. Aditya Birla Group has been big in my life for another special reason: Peter England, I gave all my interviews for various B Schools in my one and only white formal shirt which I consider it as my lucky one and converted the best one. Being an automobile enthusiast, I can’t stop thinking about speed and Conductex of Birla Carbon is what rings a bell for me when it comes to high performance tyres and F1.
