Being challenged in life is inevitable, being defeated is optional                                                                                           -Roger Crawford I come from a rural background and spent the first 16 years of my life in a small town in Bihar, named Katihar. When I was in class 12, I went to Kolkata with my friends. For the first time, I saw malls, tall buildings, cars, multiplex and was smitten by the luxury and charm of this city. I didn’t have enough money to enjoy all those things, which made me feel low. That day I decided that I will earn more and more money. I passed 12th and decided to join the Merchant Navy because of its high paying nature. I completed my B.tech in marine engineering and joined M.V. Crusader as a trainee engineer. I really enjoyed my job. For the first time I boarded a flight. I went to Hong Kong and visited other countries like Vietnam, Thailand and Singapore. I was earning in dollars and getting timely promotions. After 2-3 years, I realised that this is the job I am good at but not the job I love to do. I started introspecting and further realised that I want to lead a different life. I realised that there is a misalignment between my real ambition and my present lifestyle. Then I decided to pursue MBA as it provided me an opportunity to fulfill my professional as well as my social aspirations. My hard work paid off and today I am a proud IIFTian, (Batch 2019-21)

Gloomy To Glad With ABG

Gloomy To Glad With ABG

It was a happy Friday morning and I was on my way to work at 9:00 AM. I was expecting to close my deliverables early and call it a day and go out with friends! Once I stepped inside office, I was called in by my manager for an urgent stand up meeting. I was informed that today is going to be one heck of a long day, because client’s senior management wanted an update progress, which was earlier planned for next week! Quickly I got to work hoping to complete it on time.

A Story Of Struggles And Perseverance | Rupam Bora, IIFT

My life has been a journey, and in this journey, I have often been acquainted with Aditya Birla Group products. Nowadays I am blessed to have an ABG product by my side starting from morning till I retire for the day. But the same was not possible in childhood being a native of Jorhat, a semi-urban place in the North-Eastern part of India. I spent half of my childhood studying in a boarding school so that with good education and sufficient exposure I can do well and move to a bigger city for my higher education. Belonging to a smaller city I always had small dreams and many of them might sound funny to a mate from a metro city. One big dream of mine from childhood was to gift something special to my parents from my first salary. That dream was nearing when I got placed and joined Fluor Corporation after graduating from NIT Silchar. With my first salary at hand, I flew back home to meet my parents. But in the rush to see my loved ones, I forgot about my dream. So, straight after landing in the airport I went to the nearby Pantaloons Outlet and grabbed an Allen Solly suit for my father and a watch for my mother. And from then till today, Pantaloons have been my go-to place for all my apparel and accessories needs. Whether it’s an interview or the first day at college, the procrastinated self in me always takes me to Allen Solly or Louis Philippe or Van Heusen and within few minutes I get tucked up in a wonderfully fitted suit to be ready for the auspicious occasion.

What Does Big Mean? | Aishvarya Jain, IIFT

Big is your memories. “Is this me? Me? In a suit, looking professional and beautiful?” These were my thoughts when I tried Allen Solly’s suits for the first time. The feeling of entering a new phase of my life was brought to the center by a beautiful designer suit. How a brand can leave an impact in your life in small moments is amazing. It intrigues me how memories are filled with several brands that are embedded in our life, making our lives better and more comfortable.
