At India’s top business schools, industry giants and market leaders participate in the recruitment process, hiring future leaders for their organisations. Here, we summarize the placements at IIMs and other top business schools, highlighting the various placement statistics for the Class of 2019 to give you an idea of how the placements season has been this year.

IIM Bangalore Final Placements – Class of 2019

Highlights

  • Median CTC (Domestic): ₹ 23.00 Lac p.a.
  • Average CTC (Domestic): ₹ 24.54 Lac p.a.
  • Median CTC (Overseas): ₹ 62.00 Lac p.a.
  • Average CTC (Overseas): ₹ 62.30 Lac p.a.
  • A total of 488 offers were made by recruiters to the Class of 2019 at IIM Bangalore, including 15 overseas offers. 176 offers were made in the Final Placements week at IIM Bangalore.
  • 129 companies participated in the Final Placements process at IIM-B.
  • 35% of the batch opted for roles in the Consulting sector, making it the most sought-after sector at IIM Bangalore for the PGP Batch of 2017-2019. 13% of the batch opted for General Management roles, while 12% of the batch opted for roles in the IT sector, and another 12% opted for roles in the BFSI sector.

Highlights

  • Highest CTC – Rs. 72.00 lakhs p.a.
  • Median CTC – Rs. 23.75 lakhs p.a.
  • Average CTC – Rs. 25.40 lakhs p.a.
  • Average CTC (Top 75%) – Rs. 27.8 lakhs p.a.
  • Average CTC (Top 50%) – Rs. 30.9 lakhs p.a.
  • Average CTC (Top 10%) – Rs. 40.0 lakhs p.a.
  • 442 students participated in the Final Placements process at IIM Calcutta.
  • A total of 125 recruiters participated in the placements process at IIM-C.
  • Consulting was the most sought-after domain, with 29% of the Class of 2019 opting for Consulting roles, followed by 19% of the batch opting for Finance roles.

IIM Kozhikode Selection Criteria 2018

Highlights

  • Highest CTC: Rs. 40.50 lakhs p.a.
  • Median CTC: Rs. 18.80 lakhs p.a.
  • Mean CTC: Rs. 20.67 lakhs p.a.
  • Mean CTC (top 10% of the batch): Rs. 32.86 lakhs p.a.
  • Mean CTC (top 25% of the batch): Rs. 27.05 lakhs p.a.
  • A total of 390 offers were handed out by 107 organisations.
  • Consulting was the most sought after domain, with 30% of the offers for Consulting roles.
  • Finance was the second most sought after domain, with 21% of the offers for Finance roles.

IIM Indore Final Placements – Class of 2019

Highlights

  • Highest CTC: Rs. 89.25 LPA, a 41% increase from last year.
  • Highest Domestic CTC: Rs. 40.50 LPA
  • CTC For Top-100 Offers: Rs. 28.47 LPA
  • Average CTC: 20.79 LPA, a 14% increase from last year.
  • 200 companies participated in the recruitment process, including 57 first-time recruiters.
  • Top brands on campus included The Boston Consulting Group, PwC, Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan Chase & Co., American Express, HUL, Asian Paints, Google, Amazon, and ITC among others.

Highlights

  • Highest CTC: Rs. 28 lakhs p.a.
  • Average CTC: Rs. 16.79 lakhs p.a.
  • Median CTC: Rs. 16.50 lakhs p.a.
  • Average CTC (Top 20%): Rs. 22.67 lakhs p.a.
  • Average CTC (Top 50%): Rs. 19.75 lakhs p.a.
  • Top brands on campus included Accenture, Amazon, EY, JP Morgan Chase, Mahindra Group, TATA Group, Deloitte, and Aditya Birla Group among others.

MDI Gurgaon Final Placements – Class of 2019

Highlights

  • Highest CTC – Rs. 40.79 lakhs p.a.
  • Average CTC – Rs. 20.13 lakhs p.a.
  • 26% of offers came from BFSI followed by 23% in Consulting and 19% in FMCG/FMCD.
  • Overall 106 companies participated in the Final Placement Season.
  • Out of the batch strength of 342 students, 138 students received Pre-Placement Offers and did not participate in the Placement Process.

SPJIMR Mumbai Final Placements – Class of 2019

Highlights

  • Average CTC: INR 22.90 LPA
  • Median CTC: INR 22 LPA
  • 111 companies visited the campus for the recruitment process, out of which 28 companies were first-time recruiters.
  • A total of 12 international offers were handed out this year at SPJIMR.
  • 21.5% of the total number of offers were equal to or greater than INR 25 LPA.
  • 74.9% of the total number of offers were equal to or greater than INR 20 LPA.
  • 95.1% of the total number of offers were equal to or greater than INR 16 LPA.

  • Highest CTC – Rs. 1 crore+
  • Average CTC – Rs. 20.07 lakhs p.a.
  • Average Domestic CTC – Rs. 18.89 lakhs p.a.
  • Median CTC – Rs. 18.00 lakhs p.a.
  • The batch of 2017-19 constituting 279 students were placed across 98 companies with 32 new recruiters participating in the placement drive.

  • Median CTC – Rs. 19.81 lakhs p.a.
  • Average CTC – Rs. 20.56 lakhs p.a.
  • Average CTC (Top 10%) – Rs. 32.54 lakhs p.a.
  • Average CTC (Top 20%) – Rs. 29.36 lakhs p.a.
  • More than 40 percent of the Class of 2019 received Pre-Placement Offers and Pre-Placement Interviews through their Summer Internships & Case study competitions at top corporate companies.
  • NITIE added over 20 new recruiters including Ola Cabs, TATA Global Beverages, UPL, Dabur, Vodafone SSI, Oyo Rooms, etc.

  • Highest CTC – Rs. 30.33 lakhs p.a.
  • Median CTC – Rs. 20.05 lakhs p.a.
  • Average CTC – Rs. 20.06 lakhs p.a.
  • Average CTC (Top 50%) – Rs. 20.05 lakhs p.a.
  • Average CTC (Top 75%) – Rs. 22.70 lakhs p.a.
  • The process witnessed the participation of regular recruiters like Asian Paints, Aditya Birla Group, ITC, Mahindra and Mahindra, Nestle, Reckitt Benckiser, TAS, etc.
  • Aarti Industries, Dell EMC, Infosys Consulting, Lodha Group, Swiggy, Taj Group, Udaan, Walmart and Yodlee Envestnet were all first-time recruiters.

Why is Mdi median salry missed out? Its clearly mentioned on the report.. is it intentional? And it would be better to rank based upon median rather that average.
