According to a research by LinkedIn, the average salary of a category manager is close to Rs.12 lakh per year. To be successful, a category manager needs to have hard analytical skills and a detailed understanding of spend, demand, providers and markets to challenge how goods and services are acquired and delivered.

So what exactly is Category Management? It is the process of clustering and centralizing similar goods into single contracts which are easier to administer and lowers prices.
