When you wish to pursue MBA, you wish to pursue it from the best b-school, and if you wish to pursue MBA in International Business, you will want to do it from IIFT. IIFT is a cosy campus located in the greener area of south Delhi. It itself has beautiful gardens and overlooks Sanjay Van (an urban forest) and Qutub Minar. I am a budding bird watcher and I have spotted so many different birds in the campus already and cannot wait to explore more.
I graduated in 2017 and have never been exposed to a very rigorous working environment. Within two weeks of my joining, IIFT has taught me what I could not learn during my BTech. I bonded with my entire batch of one hundred and seventy students and developed a sense of unity. I have bonded with my roomies (room-mates) and loomies (loo-mates) as friends since ages. I have worked on assignments with new people and have created great team efforts. I have learnt utilizing my time to the optimum level. Above all, I have started to discover my potential. I was super excited about the various clubs, cells and committees at IIFT. They are like avenues that one explores to build a personality. Moreover, the introduction to all the clubs, cells and committees during the induction week made you want to be a part of each of them. They tell you how an MBA isn’t only about attending classes, it is through these clubs, cells and committees where you learn the art of management, how holding a position of responsibility becomes a talking point in interviews, and how clubs, cells and committees party. I became a member of all the possible clubs, and was aspiring to hold a position of responsibility for one. Very enthusiastically, I filled the forms of clubs, committees and cells of my interest for applying for various positions that they had to offer. The more I filled the forms, the more my interest grew. Eventually, I ended up filling up forms for four clubs and committees. This was to be followed by interviews for the same. The very next day we were informed that we were to report to the academic block in full formals at 9 pm. Already tired from the induction week and commencement of classes the same day, we motivated ourselves and reported on time with whatever snacks we could carry. The interviews went long and we all ended staying up till 2-3 at night. There were another set of interview rounds to be set for the following night. With such a busy day, we managed to catch up a four hour sleep before getting ready for another day. The day began and we were told to report at the academic block at 7 pm for the next rounds of interviews. We prepared for the interviews, asked questions about what is to happen, wished luck to the people who were called for the interview etc. This time the interview sessions were even longer. We returned to our hostels at 5 in the morning. But we returned smiling, for few of us were now Junior Executive Members for the clubs, cells and committees at IIFT. There was a sense of achievement about what we had been through.
I realized something about IIFT in those two weeks though. Throughout those two weeks, we had our seniors with us. They were sitting in the classrooms with us, they were up with us while taking the interviews, they were up all night to prepare the final results, they were busy correcting us about our faults and they were there to guide us. They were there to push us through when we had thought that we could not go any further. This I feel is a mark of a premier institution, where peer learning is so strong and where the seniors take the initiative to guide the upcoming batches to be prepared for everything. Apart from the knowledge that I take away from my two years at IIFT, I would be taking home the spirit of IIFT. For now, I am an IIFTian for life.

Choosing the ABG Company:
I would want to work for the marketing segment of Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Limited. As a kid, I wanted to pursue a career in a creative field like fashion or photography. However, I did engineering like many others. ABFRL holds the largest fashion network in India and has online retail as well. Working for the marketing segment for the same would be both challenging and exciting.
