Very rarely does one find a common thread across a lifetime of 24 years, a thread which has such strong memories, connections. The Aditya Birla Group is that common thread in my life, a group that has been in my life at many phases from the sweet childhood memories to the extremely hectic B-School life.
The Aditya Birla Group – Tomorrow’s leaders Today
I am currently pursuing MMS in finance domain at SIMSREE. At the very start of my career I never thought of doing MBA, I completed my engineering and always picture myself working in technical field. I got placed at Torrent Power Ltd as engineer and while working there I started realising that the job that I was doing was not enough for me. I was not that sure about my future in that technical field anymore and every day I was just completing my job without that excitement which I previously thought would be there. Then I decided to not continue with my current job and pursue MBA because I thought MBA will help me to explore myself and open up various career options for me.
There is a famous proverb – “where there is a will, there is a way” which applies to almost everything in life. Obstacles and challenges are part and parcel of our lives. Each one of us have to go through the ups & downs and the highs & lows. What matters in such situations is how one deals with these challenges with a calm and composed mind.
Aditya Birla Group has touched a million lives. I say this, not just for the fulfilment of writing this article, but because the presence of ABG in my life personally has been huge. I come from Jagdishpur, Uttar Pradesh where ABG has its fertilizer unit called the Indo Gulf Fertilizers, which is a unit of Grasim Industries, ABG. My father has been working with Indo Gulf Fertilizers since the last 30 years giving all his life and loyalty to the Aditya Birla Group. My mother also teaches at the school that is set up on this plant’s township premises. Not just my parents, but I myself have been educated at The Aditya Birla Public School, Jagdishpur throughout the fourteen years of my schooling. I have spent my formative years surrounded by the resources and facilities, all that were provided to me and my family by ABG.
Aditya Birla – the name speaks for itself!! Aditya Birla Group started its journey in 1919 as a Jute manufacturing company and right now it can be defined as an Indian multinational giant that provides services in chemicals, telecom services, metals and what, not? A premium global conglomerate as big as Aditya Birla Group directly affects, not just mine, but the lives of millions of people all over the world. The vision of the Chairman, Mr Kumar Mangalam Birla, whose deep commitment towards creating a brand of immense worth based on solid foundations of impeccable values, has seen the Group journey across many a milestone to emerge as a multinational power-brand of statesman stature, in the matter of just two decades.
